Between Friday and last night, i played well over 50 matches at almost every time of day. Almost all were ambush. Not one fatal error and very few outright stomps. Although i often wished for better blue buddies (my new term for them), i couldn't complain as the body count rose. 
Unless you're just addicted to wetsuit paperdolls...

I had a ton of fun with lolfits on my alts too. In case you were curious, the following 3 suits do not work very well:
Militia heavy with shotgun and nova knife
ANY suit with a plasma cannon, especially a scout
(Did not have a good enough commando suit to fit dual PLC so that one is still up for grabs)
Commando with dual mass drivers... Surprised at that one. Have to try it again when they buff the MD later this month.

Were you using just two MD, or was it a MD and Assault MD, MD and Breach MD, two Assault MD, Breach and an Assault, or two Breach? I've thought about an Exo-5 and an Assault, start with the Base and switch to Assault to finish them off. Might try that with a Minmatar Commando come 1.8.

I think the event was a great success (even if the bar was set on "average"). I got a friend playing again, after half a year. He had the feeling that he finally could contribute at least something, cause he has no FPS experience and never could get many kills.
I think that players who die often in the hard learning process should get some bonus as a standard, not only on events. they should always have a chance to have at least the feeling of contributing to the game. |

yeah, scout with plasma cannon is such a bad idea. I gave it a try and have decided to never use a pc again.
but anyways, yeah, this event was a lot of fun. There was one domination map where we decided to spawn all with shotguns. For awhile the enemy team kept killing us with scramblers and stuff but they eventually caught on and about half of them transferred to shotguns also. It was crazy fun when we all started fighting for the dom point. So much death!! ^_^

Fave fit: STD commando with two plasma cannons. Total rubbish, but kept using it so ppl could get lolz too. And the odd kill I did get? Made it more worthwhile. Quite a few vehicle kills too, LAVs and a few HAVs.
Serious note: you can't switch weapon to your other plasma cannon fast enough to really gain an advantage with two of them. That and the silly long reload time to reload two of them.
Anyway, had fun with it.
Also maxed out the Gallente scout skill tree for range bonus, and ran two complex range amplifiers on a STD scout, 14K fit. Awesome situational awareness with this fit. Lots of hilarious multi-RE kills. |
