I have been playing this game for some time now (almost 23milSP) and now with the upcoming changes to the assault suite im kinda stuck on what to go for(screw 5%reload time). Ive always been a Caldari assault and was thinking of changing to the Gal.(armor has been better than shield for some time now). Not sure which way to go?
Does anyone have any constructive feedback on my dilemma?

Go logi. Assaults are still gimped with lower slots and fitting capability.

HAHAHA, yea i've played around wit he heavy but its just not my style. I would like to stay with the Assault class.

Okay, the thought did cross my mind I just wasn't 100% sure because of the logis class bonuses going to mostly equipment stats. I will def. look into this more. thanx

Go with the suit / race that gives the best bonus for your favorite weapon or weapon you use the most.
I would rather look bad and win, than look good and lose.

Neither armor nor shields are better than the other right now.
It's all about the dual tanking.
And it's much easier to Dual tank on a Caldari Medium Frame than it is on a Gallente Medium Frame.

Well ask yourself what do YOU want to do? Nevermind whats OP and what's UP. If you shape your playstyle around FoTM, well that flavor will ran out eventually. Is that what you want to do? Change your playstyle every couple months because of buffs and nerfs? I rather quit playing tbh. |

They both have lackluster suit bonuses.
They didn't touch them much for 1.8, I'd suggest holding points if you can. Or, spec whatever. You can try them out now with the Dropship Command Respec. Though they will play different (Gallente less).
I love my Gallente Assault, loved it since May when it came out. Armor sucked then, but it was a lot of fun. Go with your gut, shields will get buffed eventually.

So, other Logi's back off, those are my Warpoints!

How is this? I thought Cal has 4 high 3 low an the opposite for Gal. (just looking for clarification)

Because the Caldari comes with better stats for shields regeneration and such.
And it's much easier to make up for armor without sacrificing much than it is to make up for shields.
Although, since assault suits are no longer getting a shield bonus it's a bit better than it will be now.
