Hi guys,
For those of you who snipe for a living, I have two questions.
1. I understand that sniper rifles are considered hybrid weapons. Is this true for all of them?
2. With all of the changes to how suits handle damage and damage mods, what will be the effect on our community?
Please be civil, I know how some of you hate us.

1) Since no real info on the other racial sniper rifles has been released except art, can't say for sure which will be what GAL probably is hybrid.
2) I have a strong feeling you will see more Thales in all match types over regular sniper rifles for a while. Over-all we will do less damage (especially to heavies). You will see more CAL Commandos as sniper specialists due to damage bonus to rail tech (current sniper rifle).
For me personally I like the Cal Commando (look wise) since it is the smallest heavy suit an reminds me of a Dust version of Master Chief. Apart from this most or all passives will need to be skilled into for a commando(Cal) sniper or sniper in general to be truely effective in the long run. It would seem that now if you want to go for damage when sniping you will be easier to counter snipe where as if you are going for stealth or tanking you will have reduced damage but more survivability with ehp or cloaking.

Devs don't respond to sniper threads ......... too many butthurt trolls and arguments over redline

They had a Dev blog claiming all Sniper Rifles were Hybrid - Rail (no connection with Hybrid - Blaster). Although I can see why the charged might seem different.
Did you about some changes coming somewhere Poo?

Snipers are caldari.
Meaning they're hybrid: rail
Aka "kinetic"
Hybrids are useable by gallente regardless of rail or blaster.
Gal currently gets a bonus to fitting rail rifles since they're hybrid
I think that's changing why? I don't know.
Gallente use rails and blasters interchangeably in eve. It should apply here too.
1.8 seems like caldari will get rail bonuses and gal will only get blaster. Which sucks.
