A Dropsuit Command respec is better than no respec at all, however, I honestly don't think that's enough. For some people, the entire reason they specced into a suit was because it gave bonuses to modules that it now QUITE CLEARLY doesn't anywhere, also, damage mod nerfs hit VERY hard. Like, no one is going to use them, not even those damage mod stacking cover camping charged sniper bastards in the hills, nerfed hard. Anyone who put SP into them has now wasted however many skill points it took them to get to proto. If you're not there STOP. STOP IT NAO. Save yourself the SP, put it somewhere useful, like armour or shields (why were you leveling up damage mods before these anyway?). Whole entire suit builds have now gone the way of the dodo. In 1.8 I think Minmatar commandos with mass drivers are gonna own everything. They alone will retain the ridiculously short TTK of 1.7 while everyone else tries desperately to stack as many shield extenders and armour plates as possible (hope you skilled into these and not damage mods TROLOLOLO). CCP, an entire infantry respec should have happened like the one you gave when you rolled out the new changes for the vehicles. That's what SHOULD have happened, but to be perfectly honest, I'm happy and very surprised you gave one out at all. That is not something that I should be surprised or happy about. When a game changes this drastically it should give the players the means to adapt to it. You have literally changed the FUNDAMENTAL BUILDING BLOCKS of infantry combat and you're only giving us half the legos back that we used to build them initially (technically 1/3). Just not right, but if I've learned anything, it's not to expect a whole lot out of CCP. Hell, I would pay actual money for respecs. Charge $5 or $7 or even (*gasp*) $10 and see how much money you'd make just by making it a thing. It's not like it'll unbalance the game, that's the point of having a FINITE amount of SP. No matter what you spend it on, if you have 15 mil SP or more you will be a slightly OP protostomping pub jerk (or otherwise known as PC ready), unless you're a total moron.
But, I digress. This post will change nothing, will not influence CCPs decision nor change what they will do in the future. I doubt a dev will even read this post. So if you think a dev needs to read this post, point them here, copy and paste this to a txt file, send it to an email or something or put it up on other threads, I don't care. I'm done with it after posting, I'm giving this to you to use (in it's entirety, no modifying the content of this post, seriously, don't be That Guy). |
