Hi all. Just been playing on a map that i have played countless times but found that a door was open leading down some stairs onto a street with the OBJ across the road.
Just wondering, does CCP make little changes like this or am i going mad?

There haven't been any changes to the structures but there are some nice little nooks and crannies that people tend to miss.

I've noticed a few examples where the sockets will change slightly depending on which map they're on. This might have been that.

You should be more specific, i have no idea what map/socket you're talking about.
Nevertheless, it's more than likely that you just never saw that path before.

Some sockets change not only turret position, but also open/block path for infranty/vehicles. This depends from game mod. |

On the "green mushroom" socket, I recently found a badass little spot I never knew about. I got a ton of kills without ever going on the defensive. If only I had a Nano on my Heavy, it could've been 40+.
And No, I'm not telling where it is. If you wanna know, just show up in red - I'll be happy to demonstrate.

The objective that was across the road was the one in the city thats underground with the supply depot so whatever socket that is

Maybe you mean Skim Junction with the Research Facility socket? Check the Map section of the forums.
Eitherway, in that layout, you have B inside in what you could call an underground section. There's the door that leads straight into the road and across from it there's not a stairwell but a spiral ramp that leads to objective C.
Is this it?

Yes that is the socket i was meaning but not the slope. looking from the bottom of the slope at B turn left and go up the street about 50m theres a stairway leading to the left side lab . I will check out the maps.

Nope but thanks for the image.
I saw them at L11 You enter at N11 i know of the stairs that take you up to the next level but ignore them and keep going through the building past the previoulsy thought to be 'closed' door which is now open. This leads down some steps and back onto the street near the slope and pretty much across the road from the main doorway for B.
I guess i have just never seen it before and assumed all the doors in this type of 'lab' layout had blocked doors.
