So, I remember reading somewhere back in beta that Dust would work best with the more recent incarnations of PS3 (Ultra slim)

Yesterday I finally got around to testing this. I had my ultra slim and my friend's fat PS3 over at my house and what I noticed is that when we played the same matches in the same squad he loaded into matches roughly 5 seconds faster than me, deployed roughly 5 seconds faster than me (10 sec headstart).
He had little to no frame rate lag @ High, I had lots all the time @ Low.
He got 0 fatal errors/other errors/crashes, I got so many that I lost count.

I found no upsides to using ultra slim.
So what is it that makes ultra slim better than older models? I really wanna know.

What do you guys think is the best one for playing Dust, and why? For other games I know the fat one always beats the others hands down.

Ps. I did not get my hands on the normal slim.

I've been using the regular slim the whole time, dont even think I used my fat ps3 with Dust. I know SSD or Hybrids are supposed to load you in faster, did either system you use have one of them installed? I know some of the super slims have SSDs, not sure which ones/all of them, though.

No SSDs, just stock HDD on both consoles. And I've never seen any of the PS3s advertised as having SSD on the stock model.

 That's how mine came.

Fat died twice. Grabbed a super slim. Popped an SSD in there. Lovely. Faster and much quieter than the fat.

My super slim has a 500GB HDD.

Mine is still alive, been alive for 6+ years but I gave it to my brother. I honestly dunno how to kill it cause I've had it powered on for weeks at a time without giving it any rest. And my ultra/super slim came with 500GB HDD.

At home we have 2 ps3, my own ultra slim and my gf slim (stock no SSD, only HDD 5400rpm), every match, when deploying she loads around 5seconds faster than me, this always happens after the warbarge loading screen and when deploying in the map. We both had the drives defragmented and verified this. It is a fact. I have no idea why but Dust, at least to me, works better with the Slim model of Ps3, not the ultra slim.

My experience is that it's usually the HDD speed that makes the difference. I have a slim with ssd, loads quick as hell, usually load the staging area with 15 sec on the clock.

The mechanical hdd may be fragmented causing slower loads, also they're 5400rpm's and the other could be a 7200 - but really, get a ssd - does wonders.

I burned my fatie long time ago, its still witm me like my other skeletons in my wardrobe
  (just for spare parts)
Now i have, i pressume 360 slim and its fine.
Fat was eater of energy big time, now its consuption a think 18 proc. less and what i know ultra is on 20 proc. less on energy, than original fatie.
Another thingie with fatie was termo-paste the infamous killer of first serie (and killer of mine first too), but slims was fine what i know.

I've got both, & although I don't play much on the old fatty, I always thought the slower match deployment was a symptom of a worse internet connection.
 Perhaps I was wrong.

I have a ultra slim, and it loads me just as fast as my old fatty did(R.I.P) the only real difference I've notice is that the ultra is much more quite and doesn't run as hot. It also looks awful compare to the older models(IMO)

I also have a hybrid SSD that gets me into the match a little quicker.

I use one of the fatties, and from my experience I'm usually one of the first players to deploy. Obviously can't compete with an SSD, but I think I might be a bit quicker than the slims.

Just saying, a SSD will improve the loading, regardless of PS4 being much more awesome or not.

I know an SSD would make it much faster but I just am not gonna spend more on an SSD than what I spent on the console itself, you see I need the 500GB (and more) for my digital games.
