So, I remember reading somewhere back in beta that Dust would work best with the more recent incarnations of PS3 (Ultra slim)
Yesterday I finally got around to testing this. I had my ultra slim and my friend's fat PS3 over at my house and what I noticed is that when we played the same matches in the same squad he loaded into matches roughly 5 seconds faster than me, deployed roughly 5 seconds faster than me (10 sec headstart). He had little to no frame rate lag @ High, I had lots all the time @ Low. He got 0 fatal errors/other errors/crashes, I got so many that I lost count.
I found no upsides to using ultra slim. So what is it that makes ultra slim better than older models? I really wanna know.
What do you guys think is the best one for playing Dust, and why? For other games I know the fat one always beats the others hands down.
Ps. I did not get my hands on the normal slim.

No SSDs, just stock HDD on both consoles. And I've never seen any of the PS3s advertised as having SSD on the stock model.

Super slim has 12GB of memory and no hdd does it not? That's how mine came. Fat died twice. Grabbed a super slim. Popped an SSD in there. Lovely. Faster and much quieter than the fat. Mine is still alive, been alive for 6+ years but I gave it to my brother. I honestly dunno how to kill it cause I've had it powered on for weeks at a time without giving it any rest. And my ultra/super slim came with 500GB HDD.

The mechanical hdd may be fragmented causing slower loads, also they're 5400rpm's and the other could be a 7200 - but really, get a ssd - does wonders.
/c No way I'm going to get an SSD for sh1tty PS3 when PS4 is already out there.

Just saying, a SSD will improve the loading, regardless of PS4 being much more awesome or not. /c Do I really need to answer that when you already answered your own question?
I know an SSD would make it much faster but I just am not gonna spend more on an SSD than what I spent on the console itself, you see I need the 500GB (and more) for my digital games.
