Since they get the honor of calling orbitals and not being muted in chat, why not? I'm not talking anything big--maybe 10 extra WP for killing a squad leader.

Maybe it'd be a better idea if squad leaders didn't show up as a double chevron. Otherwise it's just unfair and would make people not want to be squad lead since everyone would be targeting them.

Yeah, that crossed my mind. I'm sure the game would turn into double chevron easter egg hunts, but I was visualizing it more as a sort of a tactical enhancement. But you're right--without some other balancing factor (like removing the chevron), it wouldn't work out as hoped.

Just to add on the topic of rewards for killing squad leaders, a SL death should cancel whatever order they issued.
I know its kinda pointless but the more depth the better |

How about the ability to hack into a downed squad leaders comms, and reveal his squad locations.
