CCP has already proven that issuing a respec isn't a huge hindrance to them with how well the vehicle respec went. If CCP wants to kill this argument, they need to provide the base racial symmetry and generally leave it alone aside from the occasional few % shifts here and there to smooth out balance. If they didn't want this to be an issue, they wouldn't have released the game with partial, base racial symmetry in a game that is supposed to be in the EVE universe. It would appear to me that this event is designed to give us this massive amount of SP so that we're ready for the changes to infantry and other content. While I initially wanted to dump points out of "useless" weapons and other assets, I've come to think that having access to all the gear I do just helps me be more versatile. I've been through many changes of stats and fitting of ships in EVE, and adapted to those. As a possible additional piece of perspective, while EVE has changed a lot over the years, the only time they actually refunded SP to us was when they removed the Learning skills that were just acting as a barrier to entry for anyone new. With 1.7, they removed a larger number of skills, skill bonuses, and assets from the game, whereas with this next release they're doing the kind of rebalancing that has always been part-and-parcel of playing EVE over the years, which is likely why they're doing such an event rather than refunding skillpoints. People are going to try to run FotM no matter what. How is this one respec going to allow people to run the temporary FotM for more than one patch cycle? It's not like everybody's getting a respec every patch so they can easily spec into the FotM for every patch. If we get a 1.8 respec, sure, people will flock to the FotM of 1.8, but come 1.9 the FotM will change and there won't be any respec for people to quickly spec into it. It may not be the content you personally wanted but that really has no bearing on anything. - This entire post bitching about what content we do or don't have coming in 1.8 is premature until we get the full set of notes. You might be better of to leave, keep your isk and be done with it, see ya! Most of the crap you write is utter nonsense. A respec for anything but suits is absolutely unnecessary. If you optimize your sp now you will be unhappy 2 patches later. Stop whining its just childish and disgusting!
