By my side of view i really admire their visionary work on concepts/ideas and their customer service. What i hate is no responce by devs, their secrecy and overal feel "like they don care"/"they are lost"/"they dont listen to us".

CCP appears to like moving laterally way more than in a forward vector.

I think the fact that CCP Rouge has fired people to were talking to us or got them moved off the project is pretty telling of dusts future. Want to talk to ccp about FW, PC, PC 2.0 nope sorry they are now all behind the Great Iron Curtain of Silence. I mean I've heard of bunker mentality when things go bad but seems like ccp has just given up.
Also anyone else notice that we have heard nothing about cpm1 voting? Seems they extended cpm0 stay once again to hold off letting us vote a bunch of morons to cpm1 (which couldn't make dust any worse, could it?)
TLDR Dust is accurate reflection of ccps dev ability

I just think it's strange that CCP can't or won't fix minor details that cause big problems (such as the recent tank speed fix). Such simple changes (10% vs 100% speed increase) should be ninja-nerfed immediately. It messes up the game to an extent that it's frustrating and will cause (newer) players to stop.
Something else I find frustrating is that CCP tries to balance with huge steps. We've seen the effect on swarm launchers (huge triple nerf last update), and we'll see it again with damage mods (which will be yet another nerf for swarm launchers).
Finally, I fail to see reason in some of the events. They tend to reward protostomping, as if it isn't bad enough. Some people here say it's to quickly gain data, but data gained under different circumstances will be pretty useless. |

You miss understand CCP cmdrwang the dev that doesn't have to listen to us (his words) is in charge of events in dust. His only charge is to get people to log in and nothing more. there is very little ccp can offer in regards to rewards in dust and this is of their own doing.
More win for ccp

CCP is slowly adding the necessary content to Dust by adding new sidearms, dropsuits, and equipment. Unfortunately, they are doing it at a snails pace so by the time Dust is considered a AAA 2014 title it will in fact be 2016. By the time it is a AAA 2016 title it will be 2020. By the time it is a AAA 2020 title the human consciousness will have fused into a super being named Douglas McGerty-Matsu. Douglas mostly plays Civ 5 and a hyper advanced form of tennis called FA-TENNIS9090 so he doesn't have time for DUST 514.

The only problem with this game and CCP is that they think it's OK to make promises without delivering anything similar to those promises anytime soon.
This game is obviously developed by a very small or less than capable team, which has big visions but nowhere near the manpower to deliver anything.
Stop whining and adjust your expectations. Tell everybody who is new to the game to not expect anything in the near future.

This is called setting expectations, and it is something that CCP, in general, and the Dust team, in particular, are TERRIBLE at.
You can't blame the community for expecting CCP to actually deliver what they promise.
Honestly, they could use a rule as simple, for starters, as "don't talk up features that won't be ready until after the next fanfest - we'll talk about them at the nearest fanfest", but they don't. Thus, they continue to talk up everything, and deliver next to nothing and look incompetent in the meantime.

DUST can be great, but it's going to take a long time to get there. I've personally adjusted my expectations downward a couple times to the current estimate of 1-2 years if the new EP is any good.
Don't expect the next patch to be the savior. Or the next. You will encounter nothing but frustration if you count on it.
Just play it for what it is today, a small lobby shooter with significant balance issues, but a nice fitting and skill system.

CCP's progress has been somewhat stunted over the past 9-12 months. This is to be expected when you have an EP who for whatever reasons isn't able to deliver. Up until Uprising we were getting decent 3 monthly title changing updates. After Uprising a slew of problems cropped up that needed immediate attention.
At EVE Vegas CCP Praetorian said they knew the game wasn't ready for release but they had decided that DUST 514 ought to be made with the gamers so they released it. Uprising 1.0-1.7 brought mostly quality of life changes, some attempts at balancing an incomplete picture, some new suits, weapons and equipment and a vehicle overhaul. While we were still making some steps forward, the game in general suffered from stagnation. We played the same maps, the same modes in the same suits with the same weapons and desperately sought after features like PvE and NPE were left on the way side. PC is a fail but FW is somewhat better since the introduction of LP and the store.
Now that there is an executive producer at the helm I have full confidence that things are on the right path. Members of the CPM have stated that CCP has good reason to be quiet and that good things are coming in 1.8 and forward to Fanfest which promises to be the next big evolution of the game. CCP Saberwing said that the NPE is at the heart of what they're doing and Praetorian said that 2014 was the year of 'putting the MMO into DUST 514' and said PvE would come this year. I'm hoping that it was also Rouges directive to get racial parity in suits and I hope that we get parity in weapons, equipment, vehicles and turrets in the next few updates so CCP can finally properly balance things.
So yeah, it hasn't progressed at the speed we wanted but you can't expect amazing results during a change of management and if you can't acccept that then you need to skill into realistic expectations and expectation management then come join me in the real world where you understand **** happens and just enjoy the game for what it is while watching it gorw. If you can't do that, just **** off and go play a nicely polished retail game and stop wasting your finite time on earth in a constant state of butt devastation. it's pathetic to wallow in that ****.

I could not have said this any better. The best we can do is grind out the cap for the week, and keep SP long enough to run Proto when the next content is added. If newbies did the same, it would give them an advantage to try new things out (granted that they cap out at least every week for one month to get some foundation.

No progress?
Things may be borked up with the weapons or what ever your current problems are but the game has gotten better and things have been added and some of those things were player ideas or came from feedback from the players.
5 minutes minimum just to log on. 5 minutes to load contacts just to make a squad. Resets every third game and 5 more minutes to log on. More suits More weapons More maps PC FW Corps ISK transfers Fitting glitches that needed resets that took 5 minutes to log on. Horribly crippling lag in every game mode. Horrible hit direction. The sounds are different but overall better. Bland but looks better. Better visual effects. Better UI Squad Finder Better leader boards Over all better performance
Those are just the things I can think of and yes some are borked up and yes there are some vehicles or maps missing but overall we have made progress. To think otherwise is an appeal to tradition. You may not be happy with the progress or agree with what was released or how but you cannot honestly say that there has been no progress.
As for CCP and their customer service, they do listen and do what they can to use our suggestions and feedback. CCP does reply to tickets and deal with them appropriately. Don't let frustration with how you think the game should be developed cloud what has happened and the progress we have made. Call me whatever you like but progress has been made and the progress made was player influenced feedback through the CPM and from CCP reading the forums.

There was talks of a special deal with Sony due to DUST's unique development cycle but I'm not sure of the result. CCP tends to go a little overboard anyway as they have frequently done in EVE and having to pay Sony just makes it worse.
