 CCP I HAVE A REQUEST
Can you put information about this event on the login screen throughout the rest of this week?
I want as many of my fellow Mercs plugging away at each other as possible, and not everyone reads the forums.

One more question for you CCP guys:
What are the odds we can get a stretch goal out of this?
You know, say we're really, really productive at killing and dying, and hit 1 million on the first day.
Any chance we can get a 2 million kill/SP goal on top of that?

On the topic of grinding:
For a community-wide goal like this, I think it's okay to set a number that's slightly on the grind side. There will always be some players who are more than happy to slaughter thousands of clones on their own, and others who only have time to get their 10 matches in.
As you've seen in this thread, some people actually like the grind. And that's okay, because it's a joint goal: the people who love it help out the people who hate it, and we all achieve the number anyway.
When every single individual has to grind to do the event, that's when it robs it of fun. Collectively, it's a sense of achievement.
Anyway. Even if there isn't a stretch goal, I think CCP is doing a heck of a job with their first attempt at this kind of event. We're only asking for higher goals because we're greedy little SP-mongering killing machines.

Thanks go out to all of you who participated this weekend and helped to make this event a great success. Thank you for the event CCP. This event actually was a great deal of fun, lots of the games were even and honestly enjoyable!
Total agreement. This event has been the most fun event of the year, possibly for longer than that.
Great stuff, CCP. Looking forward to other community-style events in the future.
(Maybe some sort of FW event that ties a stat to the overall war effort?)
