It's not the suit, it's the weapon. Think about it, you see a sentinel with a rail rifle and everyone screams "OMG OP THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN!!!" but then you see a sentinel with a laser rifle and what are people saying? Blame the weapon, not the suit.
My thoughts exactly, I spent the entire time from when uprising dropped to 1.7 getting chewed out on manus peak and the like trying to use the HMG while the allmighty duvolle ruled all. So when the new rifles were announced and I found out they were going to have even MORE ******* RANGE I f-ing snapped and decided I'd finally had enough. Took respec sp out of assault dropships and within 24 hours of 1.7 had prof 3 RR and proceeded to bend over every Duvolle user and make them pay.
I'm probably one of the reasons it's such a problem now. For a while it was this beautiful window where attempted protostomping duvolle users would feebily fire back at me at more than 60m as they got torn to shreads, seemingly not able to understand that their duvolle was no longer king. Some would come back and do the same thing again, as if they assumed the first kill was a glitch or something. I was placing higher than the OP tankers for kills.
It wasn't stat padding or ego boosting I've been playing so long my KDR didn't change a single 0.01, and if I was into that I wouldn't have run HMG all through uprising with scouting as my side hobby for more of a challenge. If I saw duvolle in the kill feed out came the heavy RR suit, for revenge pure and simple. I knew it was a matter of time before it spread and became FotM but I needed catharsis. And medium suits paid dearly for it.
And then the HMG fix/buff came. The build was deleted and the RR got shelved until mid Feb when I decided to put it on my scout suit.
But considering I started playing this game when a Cal Logi didn't even need to bother avoiding the pointy end of an HMG the revenge was so very very sweet. |
