Just a concept discussion here. I know this wont happen anytime soon so please keep your QQing and raging and butthurt comments out of this thread.
I know 0 gravity combat is something that we would all like to see happen and Im sure CCP is aware of it and would like to make it happen. The only question is how would this work? Ive never seen a game do 0G combat before out side of scripted events in stuff like COD Ghost. How would we move and shoot? How would the maps be laid out?
Im think maybe something along the lines of magnetic boots that we can turn on and off launching ourselves up to the roof. Similar in a way to how Deep Space did its 0G areas. But then that makes a whole new problem because now the ceiling of ships and stations need to provide cover for infantry as well.
Ideas? If resources and time were not an issue how do you think it could be done in an effective and fun way? What do you think a 0g battle would look like |

Wouldn't zero gravity mean that we just fly away randomly with no control of where we're going..?
Maybe less gravity would be cool, but I could see Scouts getting OP (yes, I said it) with those kind of mechanics. |

At last, something interesting to discuss.
Lorewise, CCP has gone down the artificial gravity path and this is for stations and ships (according to EVE chronicles in stations and ships) so a mode when it is off or it alternates between on and off would be inline with lore and also pretty cool to be in.
If it is implemented I'd hope they add dropsuit thrusters and recoil. |

It'd be cool to have magnetic boots you could activate/de-activate, maybe with one of the d pad directions. A good running start and a strong jump+ de-activating your boots at the right time could send you screaming across the map. Since it would be 0g I would imagine maps wouldn't just be 1 flat plane, but a hodge podge of different planes. That jump could end with you standing on what was the ceiling, though it would then be the floor. Not quite sure how vehicles would play into this, especially Dropships, with no real "down" direction. Interesting though.
Switzerland is small and neutral. We're more like Germany. Ambitious and misunderstood.

shooting your gun produces recoil.
recoil produces DeltaV in the oposite direction you shot.
technically your gun is a thruster :P |

Lol plasma cannon would suddenly become more effective, if only for providing speed boosts.
