I play for the massive amounts of lag that ruin my experience. The game breaking lag that stops my equipment from switching, that stops my remotes from being detonated, that causes me to get shot by an invisible spawning enemy. The lag that just decides to come on a good game when tanks aren't being spammed.
I play for the instant deaths upon spawning and getting killed from an orbital when I'm supposed to be cloaked/invincible for that few seconds. I play for those moments when matchmaking is broken and I only have my squad on my team against 3 full squads on the other side.
I play for the tank spam. For the useless AV. For the overpowered weapons that can shoot me from a hundred meters away at full damage.
In fact, I have no idea why I play this game. Probably because Cosmos hasn't been aired yet (tonight at 9pm EST is the first episode). Probably because Dark Souls II hasn't been released yet (March 11th... Can't wait for this). And probably because none of my friends from DUST can pick another game to switch over to.
I want to play with my friends. CCP, you are killing us with our love. I'm literally waiting until the day when I break my controller from throwing it against the wall so I never have to play this horrible game ever again, so I can finally have an excuse to buy the PS4.

I also play because I enjoy the good fights in PC. They can be really fun sometimes. |

I still play because:
I can't continuously track a red dot at 80 meters with a laser.
I can't seem to win a one on one with some of the better players in this game unless I lead with a grenade.
I want to know what 30M and 40M SP will really get me.
I had an absolute hoot in Chromosome using advanced versions of all the suits in a given night.
It is fun to be part of a team of randoms that rise up and beat the Nyains when they try to proto-stomp.
Some day I will master the art of a proper grenade cook and will kill a cluster of reds with a mid-air burst.
I like to lob MD shots at red scouts like they are tight ends and watch them "catch" their reward.
Head shots make be giggle a little inside when I get that +60 notice.
+1 to the OP. (Sometimes these forums tend to focus on the negative aspects of the game.)

Broken controllers happen more often than one might expect. I'm not talking about breaking L3 from always sprinting either. I've heard a few crashing noises. Although the favorite was the buddy who actually took his outside and Gallagher-ed it on his driveway.
Weapon glitching bugs me more than the more global issues like lag. Like pressing the trigger and not having a charge-up or the HMG doesn't spool. It has to do with having the glitch happen, asking bout it on Comms, and realizing I'm the only one getting buggered. Thankfully these days those issues tend to keep inside limited missions unlike the previous year where specific types of bugs could happen match after match.

I play mainly so that when this game gets good I wont be behind on SP. Plus i like to try out the various updates that come out. However my play time usually decreases a few weeks after launch |

I have 32M Sp. I have nothing else to train. Literally, all that's left are more suits and more guns and .. well vehicles of course. I could leave and come back a year from now and not skip a beat. I've uninstalled the game and won't reinstall until I read on these forums about how much 1.8 has changed the state of the game... And if it hasn't changed then I will not install again until things have changed... Or never if I can find a good game to play.

For the day were I sleep and dream of running around in a popped collared gold plated suit popping reds with a proto breach scrambler pistol and then disappearing in a flash as I knife my next victim with Amarrian blades( or punch the **** out of them with power gloves :) while all of it happening pre OB style where the game made you nostalgic.

Well that and Destiny isn't out yet.
Sadly for me, at this point, even if CCP pulled a rabbit out of their hat and balanced everything, fixed everything, and introduced everything (and I mean everything) I have way to many bad memories of this game to play past Destiny, and CCP will never see one more damn cent from my wallet for Dust. This experiment failed long ago, I feel. Just waiting and watching it die at this point.
Switzerland is small and neutral. We're more like Germany. Ambitious and misunderstood.

All these are sad but true. Im moving on friday and will be offline for about 3 weeks as i wait to close on my new house. Anyhow during that time I will reflect on this game when I think about it. The AR nerfs that were understandable but now ridiculous, the tank spam, the pc lag, etc.
I'll keep tabs via the forums but if the new patch doesnt fix A LOT all around then im just going to log in once a month to use up my passive boosters and put my clone in stasis until this game resembles at least HALF of what planetside 2 appears to be. Maybe it'll take a year, who knows. If it does get fixed I guess I'll have a ton of sp to allocate. If not I doubt I'll care much since I'll be playing ps2, watch dogs, or destiny. |

I have one. Its a good idea since there's finally games coming out worth owning like mgs and watch dogs. Stay away from killzone though it sucks. And im actually a fan of kz, IMHO kz2 is one of the best online fps ever. God I miss those magnums... |

I play cuz it's the best video game out there. No matter how many times I play the big name games that come out...I always go back to Dust, cuz all the other games are unfulfilling and eventually get old. Dust 514 is a game that changes constantly, has an economy, and best of all developers that will take this game farther than anyone excpects.
