Timers that allow for battles to spin up faster would help more corps get into PC and it would break up some of the gridlock created by small, elite teams that benefit from the 24-48 hour timers.
I've proposed window timers that allow for some downtime, but provide a window that the district can be attacked every day. With battles spinning up in 30min-1 hour after an attack.

The current locking of districts are showing that the hole gamemode is broke.
Timers ? Wy the f++ck do we have timers? What's the logic behind them? It's like Ukraine would have timers on Krim and saying to the Russians you can only invade at 13:00. WTF you hold a district you better be prepared to defend it 24/7
And wy the F are PC a mirror of skirm ? It should be so MORE. Bigger maps, more players, LONGER battles.
PC is just crap as it is now
Timers? Because it's a ducking VIDEO GAME and being prepared 24/7 ? Okay , then PC would be dominated by one corp because all the dudes that can wake up in the middle of the goddamn night or leave their own wedding would all form a super corp where all the people that have lives wouldn't be able to compete. There. Is. Nothing. Wrong. With. The. Mechanic. It's the people that actually ducking break it. Sure there is exploits which many things in the world has to. There's always a loop. Also , even with this super corp it would be difficult to hold more than 2-3 districts making PC pointless because of no Isk which is why most people do it and not to kill people in an organized match which shouldn't have any blueberries. People are broken, not the game(well...it's sort of broken but the community just abuses it even more) Please note that this is totally all IMO. I see your points and understand your frustrations but don't agree. Which you don't agree with mine.
The timers shouldn't go away, they just need to be changed to window timers. 8-12 hours of downtime per district, you set the window.
This creates a fluid situation in PC.

30 mins to 1 hour is not enough notice for a corp to be ready for a pc, ML can get ringers that fast?
I think it opens up the opportunity for more people to participate in PC. You wouldn't be able to rely on ringers all the time because of the short notice.
I think it would increase participation in PC by 4 or 5x.
You'd just have to roll with who is online.

I'm thinking about being able to attack and participate in that battle in that sitting. Perhaps multiple battles.
I'm also thinking about how the established corps as they stand would be unable to hold all of MH with a mechanic such as the one I'm proposing. Thus opening up PC to more corps and more players within those corps. AND it would be more fluid, which seems like it would be more fun.

To Gildart Lightray:
It's not just about that, there are lots of people within PC corps that have given up on PC because it seems like every match is a who's who of the top 20 Dust Leaderboards.
The ringer situation pushed a lot of people away from PC.
I hate the fact that I can attack someone that we could redline and they have 24-48 hours to find 15 all star ringers. Mechanics that make that less likely will lead to more participation in PC.
I don't think these mechanics will cause 100 25 man corps to join PC, but I do think there are a lot of corps that have been in PC that no longer participate because of all the BS associated with it.
