Because the damage mod nerf pretty much forces me to stack extenders.
I will have over 900 eHP.

I'm willing to bet that more shield suits will stack plates. Not with that CPU/PG requirement they won't.
Extenders were already mathematically superior, just that the difference was tiny so both were valid.

its now your only source of increasing your weapons weakest efficiancy (shields/armor)
if your using a scrambler and you ever want to put a dent into 900HP worth of armor... you kinda need those damage mods Or I can, ya know, switch to my Magsec SM... Sorry, silly me, it's the Magsec Assault Rifle

I'm willing to bet that more shield suits will stack plates. They already do. NO shield suit goes out with only shield mods and doesn't get wasted. Trust me, I've tried that once... Thankfully, shields are finally going to be able to regen tank in 1.8, making dual tanking not the only thing a shield suit can do to be competitive. But... I don't on my shield suit, and it works

You have the advantage of, if you lose shields, you're not instantly dead. An armor tanker has to guess if he will die, because armor is the last line of defense.

How long does it take to side step?

But here's a very simple example. (I won't go into full detail as I don't have the time)
Two people, of equal skill (100% hit chance) fight each other. They both have a suit with 100 base HP. They both have a rifle with 100 base DPS.
If they both start shooting each other, both will kill each other in exactly one second.
If one adds an extender, and the other adds a damage mod: One gets 166 HP with 100 DPS. The other gets 100 HP with 110 DPS.
The first guy takes 1.5 seconds to kill, while he kills the other guy in 1 second. Since damage mods are % based rather than a set value, this varies, however, no weapon with the exception of the HMG has the DPS necessary for a damage mod to be superior to an extender. You should also note how if you miss, you lose potential damage from the damage mod, while a shield extender can't "miss". And lastly, damage mods have stacking penalties, making them weaker each time.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.
