They don't have f.....g RE. BTW i don't always fall into traps, after they do it the first time without being seen you cac expect it and if you are clever enough you can avoid the trap, but hell, it's so boring... RE>>>flux RE>>>flux I can't walk for a meter, i can't turn a corner without fluxing it before, i'm not even safe when i kill the RE carrier. It's very boring, it's very cheap ( if enemy is not camping with equipment spam, then it's more than legit).
---- Suggestion part -----
- Don't let throw RE for more than 1 meter (little throwing distance is needed to attach them to vehicles)
- Delete equipping time (to use them as a proper AV)
- Give 3 at STD, 4 at ADV, 5 at PRO and don't let hives resupply them (RE are equipments not grenades or bullets)
- Nerf range from 5 to 2/3 meters.
- Don't let bleeding merc detonate RE (otherwise i want to autoinject myself if i have an injector)
- Make RE shine/blink for 1 second after they are placed (because now they are more invisible than nades)
Imo, RE usage is right when:
- Enemies are camping with spammed equipment (long list of +5 & +50 are the proof)
- You place them and set a trap (for infantry and vehicles)
- You attach them to an enemy vehicle and you detonate them
Cheap tactics are (some people deserve them, but most not)
- Jihad jeeps
- Throwing RE and use them like grenades (with a wider range)
- Set traps at Uplinks
- Death rush (if enemies are not camping)

RE current mechanic is not defendable, i appreciate them as AV, i appreciate them to clear camped rooms, but they are clearly not working this way.
If you use them as AV they are balanced and the deal enough damage but they need tweaks, they have to be faster to deploy.
If you use them as AI they are unbalanced, they have a 360-¦ degree range, while an anti infantry mine should cover an angle of 60-¦-90-¦. They are almost invisible, more invisible when lag is involved (have you ever seen nanohives moving when you throw them).
Please, don't be fool, i love explosives, probably more than a lot of you, but imo they are not working well.

Probably i'm not the better dust player, but i've never seen a RE explode while in air, not mine and not the one of another player.
Some people in this thread just answered with what they think about RE, saying their opinion on them, some other just accuse me, if you need to accuse the OP and not answer with some good points i believe you have to "git gud" not me.
BTW i can throw RE farther than 1 meter, remember that i use them, i'm talking about things i know. In regards of AoE they have full 5 meter, only PRO nades kills me at that distance.
Let me make an example based on 1.8. I take a scout and a heavy in a hallway. The heavy see the scout and chase him, he hear the sound of the RE around the corner, the clever heavy flux the zone and get a +5, he hears the sound again, he must flux again, he can proceed and kill the scout, but the scout will probably trigger the RE after his death, so he flux and get another +5. He hears that sound again , game over, nade count is 2 he can't pass there.
I agree on RE as wayblocker but they don't work correctly, after the first flux nade, the heavy must be able to pass and the scout have already gained the time to escape or he want to fight the heavy, the heavy must have the possibility to kill or be killed by the scout, but not die because he trigger the explosive after his death.
It can seem that with my suggestion of removing equipping time i say everything and its opposite, but it's not like that, if they don't let throw them and give a 1 sec blink to the RE both the scout and the heavy have the possibility to kill each other. The scout will play on timing and drop a RE before the heavy can see it blink and the heavy will have chance of killing the scout without exploding.
