LAV Heavy? I'll spam it. Why? Because trying to preserve this game's player base isn't working, and I'm tired of losing. So I'm going to join the ranks of the FOTM and Proto users trying to destroy it. I also say if there's a way around the PC locking 'fix' coming next week, then keep them all locked and farm ISK. Maybe when CCP see's their game crumbling they'll actually DO something.
It's funny you bring this up, because I've been thinking the exact same thing lately. I would like a more balanced game and a larger playerbase, and play mostly in advanced fits, hoping to make it easier for mercs just starting out. have enjoyed being a constructive member of the Dust community, but I've been doing this for about a year now... and I'm beginning to think it's useless. Player retention has become a really important issue, and the NPE is grueling, and I don't feel like a lot is being done about it. You know I would give my left nut for meta-level capped matches? I would kill for a militia-only gear mode, or infantry- only Ambush.
So instead of trying to be constructive, I've been thinking: I got a 100 mil after we came out of beta last year, and I've mostly just sat on it. What if I began blowing all of it to run proto gear only from here on out, and do my best to stomp the everloving **** out of any noob that comes my way? And I mean really make this game un****ingplayable for new players, like ragequit the first match out of Academy bad, never to return.
I mean, constructive feedback is good, but maybe trying to break the game is better? If we all help show CCP how bad bittervets can make it for new players -- if we intentionally become the worst f'ing people ever (in terms of our online personas) -- maybe something will finally give?
Many of us have tried to give constructive feedback for a long time now, toughing it out in STD/ADV fits. Maybe it's time to start giving destructive feedback, and make this game as miserable as possible for everybody. Go FOTM or GTFO.
