I stand by my original point- breaking even in a public match (where you're all but guaranteed to face the whole spectrum of gear and SP levels) in prototype gear is pathetic. Dust is based around the use of crutches. Tiers do nothing but enable those who have been playing longer to win despite having been outplayed by their opponents. I've died in my advanced gear dozens of times tonight to proto slayers who won by less than the additional plate/extender/damage mod that their gear enabled them to equip. That's just bad FPS design.

Ah I get what your saying now, but protos realy arnt that ard to kill, and it just costs them a F-ton of isk. Also its more FOTM chasing, because not all proto suits are amazing. Also some people just have bad games, I usualy go 20/5 average but some times i just get killed before I even finish spawning over and over and go like 10/15. just because they went 20/20 in your battle dosent mean its their norm. It'd be like the people who colect old military vehicles buying a big tank and then saying "I paid good money for this, I am now entitled to trash the town!". Both ruin the time of those afflicted. New players don't enjoy such stomping. Old Players don't enjoy it. Its just boring to have to deal with. Its just epeen stroking at its finest. Are there a few Blueberries who grew wrong? Yes, some are just stupid. But most of the people who come to DUST from other FPS's generally understand that you can't AR a Tank to death. So, why is DUST not snowballing people? It can have something to do with the lack of stuff to actually do, and that the skill and fiting system is a bit under explained and overwhelming. Or that the game looks kinda meh. But seriously, is it fun to fight somebody who is vastly superior to you? Imagine playing scout in TF2 and having the entire opposite teams be heavy, and your whole team be scout. Now imagine that you move at the speed of a heavy. Your soft and your weapons are underwhelming in comparison to the heavies, but theres no real difference otherwise. Thats proto and standard defined right there. Standard is soft and weapons are relatively weak, where proto is rocking way more health and overall weapon effectiveness, while there is no real reason to use standard after you get proto and have a corp to squad with and hand you ISK. Because you Wanted to be Something your Not.

I accidentally used a Boundless HMG for an entire round the other day ( I usually break it out to specifically to take on a Proto heavy in CQC or a Heavy on a leash and if I die after defeating him I go back to my MH82). At the end of the round I was 27/5 using an ADV Basic Heavy suit w/two complex Damage mods, proff to 5, and something like 850 EHP... I dont normally see those kinds of numbers. The proto gear, specifically the weapons comb'd with proficiency and damage mods I think are more oppressive than the suits. They'd ban me, but I'm too funny and more importantly, I'm right.
