Wow, the assault CR will do less than 20 dmg per bullet and the burst will probably do less than 25 without dmg mods. Wait til after 1.8 to see okay. I'm really tired of looking at all these threads that people keep making about useless speculation. Actually in 1.8 the CR and ACR will be the best weapons to use since tanking with a single style will mean your screwed and it has the best damage profile and second best range. The second best weapon will be the RR just because it's range will allow you to take your time melting shields then complete obliteration of armor.

Well I wouldn't say the best weapon but maybe the best rifles, remember the HMG did not get any sort of adjustment and will clearly have the highest DPS of all automatic weapons. Sure its range is somewhat limited but from my experiences so far its not that bad. Coupled with the new sentinal bonus the HMG will be really scary. |

Specially with the heavies high HP and quick turning speed it will take more than two people to kill one.

As an AR user all the CR QQ is pathetic. CR has longer range, higher DPS, and AR proficiency ONLY helps against shields, which there is far less of in this game.

The std CR is fine. It has a short range and requires a bit of aiming skill since it's not a full auto. Sure it's powerful but it's not OP IMO

A disturbingly large amount of people on these forums seem to have forgotten that shields have been broke since they buffed armor (at least since then, maybe earlier, can't quite remember) all those patches ago. If you are counting on shields for any kind of protection, im sorry but you are a moron. I run two extenders on my min proto assault for the simple fact there is literally nothing else to put in a high slot, and 4 damage mods is a little over the top, even for the current build. Although a 4th damage mod is probably way more useful than any amount of shield extenders atm.
On the flipside, the AR, ScR, and IP (among other weapons) will fall off the map, since armor is the only way to HP, and said weapons prof vs armor will, for all intents and purposes, be 0. Add the fact they are cutting the effectivness of damage mods (finally, though i think a 1 or 2 mod limit per suit would have have been a better route) and a lack of prof vs the only real hp option in the game becomes huge.
Honestly it was a real bonehead move for CCP to enact these changes without fixing shields first. But it is CCP, so i guess they have to leave the door open to swing the game wildly in a different direction next patch.
I haven't failed 10,000 times, i've successfully found 10,000 ways that won't work.
