All kinds of battles have tank spam, depending what players are playing. But usually ambush gamemodes have tanks pretty much every single match, so play something else other than ambush.

Sadly, none of them are tank free. I would definitely steer clear of ambush.

There are fewer tanks and generally more scount-friendly areas in Skirmish. Second is Domination. Third is lolTankbush. |

There are no Gamemodes that are free of HAVs, but there are a few options for new players like you to deal with them that don't involve ripping your hair out when you realize the small reward that will result from it.
The best way to deal with them, would to use this Sica fitting. It requires 0 SP to operate, so you shouldn't have too large a problem with it.
Another way to deal with them, would be to use a method known as the Jihad Jeep. Placing REs onto the hull and ramming them into the fuel cells of the HAVs will insta-kill them in most cases.
I know it won't allow you to have fun with your Shotgun, but if you don't do it, no-one will.
PS: Stay away from Ambush. If your trying to play without seeing vehicles, Skirmish is your best bet.

While all game modes are infected with the tank epidemic of 2014, skirmish usually has large enough maps you can run around them. With the exception of some of the older, smaller, open maps.

i see more group effort lately vs tanks, it's not as bad as first because ppl are putting effort into killing them now. we try to attack them with dropship if i have my gunner especially if it's already being attacked. i dont care who gets the kill as long as someones tank gets trashed. sometimes we have AV that drop and a HMG to guard them.
u can ban the troll out of the forums but u can't ban the forums out of the troll.

Well, Ambush is the highest in the percentage of tank appearances. Then objective based games, Dom and Skirm. You're bound to have tanks running around in Ambush heavy. You will see more of them and everything is concentrated in a specific battle area, so you're often in their blasting range or near their vicinity.
With Domination, its almost the same because of one objective (you might just see Tanks patrolling the streets that encircle the Alpha objective) but you have more room to breathe in and able to get away easier.
In Skirmish it can be spread pretty thin at times.
All in all, as folks told you, they're pretty much everywhere. But to get some breathing room from them and to have fun sneaking up on guys with shotty, I would play Dom and/or Skirm
