Just throwing an idea out there, didn't really think of any possible implications.
What if hardeners worked against a specific damage type? Explosive, Hybrid Blaster, Hybrid Rail, Laser and Projectile.
Currently we have Explosive (Swarm Launcher, AV Grenade, Flux Grenade), Hybrid Rail (Forge Gun) and Hybrid Blaster (Plasma Cannon) in the game.
So a resist module would work against a specific damage type, rather than resist against every single damage type.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Wouldnt really work since Dust doesnt have a thermal dmg modifier atm. Maybe when were at the full racial everything stage they could start to specify instead of gross simply the tanking systems.

I've brought this up before but for dropsuits - armor hardeners for the damage types but someone pointed out that it wouldn't be feasible for CCP to try and implement it.
I could list the ways how we Amarr are better than you, but your lesser mind wouldn't comprehend it.

I don't think it is worth it. This game doesn't really have the infrastructure to support something like that. In EVE is the Golden Gate Bridge, DUST 514 is a bridge in a small town. You want to move over an entire tank battalion over the Golden Gate? Go right ahead; it won't care. Try and do that with the smaller bridge and it probably won't end well. That isn't a negative on the game; it just has a different aim over it's big brother.
I think because everything is fairly homogenized, I feel that it shouldn't have split damage types. It is more simple which I think works better for this game. |
