As most of you know, your DUST Character gains Passive SP (Unless you've selected your character to gain Passive SP via Main Menu)...
Now i'm wondering how much SP do i earn Passively without fighting?
Now i'm not amazing at maths, but when it comes to DUST your gonna need it.
Passive SP
By creating a character and activating passive skill point gain on it, this character will earn 24,000 SP per day, even when not logged in.
Only one character per account can earn passive SP.
This setting must be done on the character selection while logging in.
Daily SP
Every day that you simply log on your character, with each day defined as from downtime to downtime, you'll receive 3,000 SP.
If you log in consecutive days, the bonus goes up by 500 SP until a maximum of 6,000 SP on the seventh day.
If you miss a day, the total received resets to 3,000 SP. Consecutively logging in will allow you to build up the pool again.
During the 7 days needed to reach max bonus, you're going to receive 31,500 SP. For every week after that, maintaining max bonus, you'll earn 42,000 SP.
Note : Daily SP are not affected by boosters.
Active SP
By playing matches, you can earn up to 190,400 skill points per week. Active skill points are gained through two methods:
5 SP are earned for every second in the game
1 SP per War Point.
Skill Points Cap
Dust 514 has a cap on how many active skill points you can earn in a week, in order to retain some balance between casual and hardcore players.
The current system will allow you to earn 190,400 SP in a week by playing matches, and once you exceed this you will only receive a maximum of 1,000 SP per match, at a rate of 1 SP per war point.
The weekly cap resets at downtime each Wednesday, 11:00 UTC. Currently, if you do not reach your cap before a reset, then that potential SP is lost.
Boosters
Dust 514 has two boosters that you can purchase in order to increase skill point gain. The 7-day booster of each type costs 7,000 AUR:
Passive booster - passive SP gain is boosted by 50%
Active booster - SP gained from matches is boosted by 50% |

the main reason why passive sp always loses out, is because of the sp events that occur constantly.
they occur every 1-3 months, and give active sp a massive lead.

Still haven't missed a day of logging in. That's about what, an extra million SP or so? My poor alt is just sitting there, surviving on 6,000SP per day...

I really wish alts on the same account could get a fair passive SP rate. As it stands you have to use a booster which gets you HALF the passive SP rate without boosters. When I made Covert on my main PSN account I knew full well the immediate disadvantage that put him at but I wanted to be able to share AUR and also my OCD demon overlord demanded they be made that way. He's not just for trying new stuff on, he's my Matari pride and joy additional to my 33 mil SP main.
Anywho, I don't think it's unreasonable for passive boosters to give you the normal boosterless rate. I know I'd pay 14K AUR a month for that SP. I don't really understand what the reason for that could be given that most people just make alt PSN accounts and get full passive for free anyway.

All SP should be passive. Just like EVE so people have to log in to choose what skills to spec, but we don't need to grind.

maybe they'd do it that way if they ever brought a subscription system into DUST? obviously you (now) have to have an active account for your skills to train so maybe if they introduced a sub to dust it added the weekly cap into the passive sp pool so you got around 51k per day passive sp. the skills are obviously done in a way to take a certain amout tof 'time' to skill into so it wouldn't be too much different and then if you wanted to activly play you just got the 1000sp per match you'd get it you had capped out. it would just mean peopel who have little time but more funds (due to work) could still 'cap out' but for a cost compared to those of us who have little money but plenty of time (unemplyed stoners)
