A bit of context: At the current CPU and PG levels for the Gallente scout - with Electronics, Engineering, Dropsuit Core Skills and Sidearms maxed out, Light Weapons at level 4, Explosives at level 3 or 4 and a few levels into Fitting Optimization for my weapons, here's what I can fit on my advanced suit:
- Advanced level scrambler rifle
- Toxin SMG blueprint
- Advanced level locus grenade
- Stable drop uplink (the cheapest one fitting-wise)
- 1 Complex shield extender
- 1 Complex range extender
- 1 Complex KinCat
Things to note:
- The range extender is among the cheapest modules one can fit
- No resources to fill my second high slot
So, with tons of SP invested in pure fitting skills, I still have a rather lackluster fitting. CPU and PG mods, you say? I'd love to if I could keep it in a high slot. As it is, the KinCat and range extender is absolutely integral to my playstyle, so no.
My point in listing this is: If you think fitting anything will be hard in the future, try a scout suit now. If you want to really go wild, try a Minmatar scout, which is currently even worse off than the Gallente scout. It's been this way since Uprising 1.0, so to be quite honest I won't lose any sleep over medium suits having to prioritize their fittings for a month or two while waiting for CCP finding the time to balance their CPU and PG. |

Excuse me, but Assaults already need to prioritize their fittings. CPU/PG values aren't changing for Assaults, so it'll be the same for them as now. Just because this game has been terribly unbalanced up until now does not mean it should continue being that. All lights and heavies are getting huge CPU/PG increases in 1.8 and it makes no sense that Assaults haven't gotten same treatment, especially since it's already hard to fit them properly.
Well, no, of course it shouldn't stay unbalanced just because it's been that way forever. I'm pretty sure medium suits need a balance pass that probably results in assaults getting a buff or two.
However: CCP has already stated that the slot layout and CPU/PG for medium frames won't make it into this specific update, but will in the near future, update-wise. Which probably means a month or two. In the meantime, as you state, assaults will be able to fit the same that they can fit now, except that they get fitting bonuses for their weapons, if I'm not mistaken. Having suffered through 10 months of a ridiculously unbalanced scout suit makes me less inclined to feel sorry for the comparatively short period of time the mediums have to wait to get buffed from their current way-better-than-scouts-have-been-for-a-long-time state. |

That would be a 50% increase on 95% of my fittings.
