They are looking at medium slot layouts, CPU/PG values etc later, but at the moment there's litterally no reason to run an Assault suit over a Scout suit.
I just don't get how they can not balance medium suits at the same time they're balancing light and heavies. All this will do is make people abandon Assaults and then cry about it when they're buffed again.
Assaults at the very least needed a CPU/PG increase just like all light and heavy suits got. Slayer Logis will also be even better now since they can either fit the same amount of equipment at a lower cost or more equipment at the same cost due to the suit bonus, while still having an insane amount of high and low slots to outclass Assaults.
I'm just seriously disappointed with this. Hail Scouts and Heavies 514!

The dark cloud wrote:You get 25% reduction of PG+CPU on light weapons and sidearms on every assult suit. Correct, but they're still seriously outclassed by Scouts and even with that fitting bonus you're going to have a very hard time fitting anything, unlike Scouts I might add.
Assault CPU/PG values are terribly lackluster to say the least.

Also, the point is that Scouts will be able to be fitted so that they're better assaults, meaning that they don't try to fit damps or anything.
Caldari Scout in 1.8: 370 shields, 85 recharge, 2.2/3.5 delays with good profile, scan range and scan precision + a cloak as well. Can you give me one reason why you would run a gimped Caldari Assault instead of that?

Can you give me one reason why you would run a gimped Caldari Assault instead of that? Why fit an energizer, recharge rate is high enough already There's a huge difference in having 50 recharge or 85. With 50 if your shields are depleted there's a 3.5 second delay, after which your shields is back at 400 shields after 8 seconds, total 11.5 seconds. With 85 recharge it's down to a total of about 8.2 seconds. That's a huge difference.
Of course there's also the problem with PG, as you will find yourself very limited on PG with a fourth extender over an energizer.

Protected Void wrote:My point in listing this is: If you think fitting anything will be hard in the future, try a scout suit now. If you want to really go wild, try a Minmatar scout, which is currently even worse off than the Gallente scout. It's been this way since Uprising 1.0, so to be quite honest I won't lose any sleep over medium suits having to prioritize their fittings for a month or two while waiting for CCP finding the time to balance their CPU and PG. Excuse me, but Assaults already need to prioritize their fittings. CPU/PG values aren't changing for Assaults, so it'll be the same for them as now.
Just because this game has been terribly unbalanced up until now does not mean it should continue being that.
All lights and heavies are getting huge CPU/PG increases in 1.8 and it makes no sense that Assaults haven't gotten same treatment, especially since it's already hard to fit them properly.

Monkey MAC wrote:Also Cloaks, even with a bonus of 70% to its fitting that cloak will probably be the most fitting intensive item on the suit. Standard Cloak is 40/9 CPU/PG on a Scout suit.

Except more HP and bonuses to weapons Sure, let's list advantages for both?
Assault: + Slightly more health (about 150 HP, 100 on main tank, 50 on secondary). + Suit bonuses to weapons (this is a big plus for some, although I think you can argue that the Caldari bonus is lackluster). + ??????
Scout: + A lot more CPU/PG. + Better shield recharge. + Better recharge delays. + More speed, both movement and sprint (the higher strafe can make up for the lower health). + Smaller hitbox (can also make up for the lower health). + Lower profile. + Longer scan range. + Better scan precision. + Equipment slot more. + CLOAK.

That would be a 50% increase on 95% of my fittings. 470 shields over 370 is not a 50% increase.
FFS, I'm not talking about Scouts fitting their suits to be scout like. I'm talking about Scouts fitting them the way they would fit their Assault suits.
Again, a 1.8 Caldari Scout fitted like an Assault suit: 370 shields, 85 recharge, 2.2/3.5 delays and good profile, scan range and scan precision to go with it + a cloak of course. Why in the hell would you run a gimped Assault suit over that? The Assault has 150 HP more (100 shields, 50 armor) and some garbage suit bonus, but is litterally worse in every other way (and that health difference is even nullified considering the Scout has better strafing ability and a smaller hitbox).
There's litterally no reason to ever use an Assault suit in 1.8 as the Scout suit will do the same job while being better in every way.

Hagintora wrote:OK, so potentially stupid question, but why don't they just switch the High/Low Slot loadout of Logi, and Assault Suits? Off hand it would seem to fix the problem. Logi's could still be combat effective, and of course carry more equipment, but they wouldn't be able to out assault the Assault Suits anymore.
Is there something I'm missing that makes this a bad idea? Giving Assaults more slots will only make them closer to Sentinels instead of Logis. Logis just need their slot count reduced and CPU/PG lowered slightly. Then Assaults need a CPU/PG increase and some other stat changes.
Edit: And for Scouts, I think they need to be changed back a bit as well (yes, that means nerfed, but I'm getting all the Scouts after me if I say that).
