Noob is anyone who's new at the game, it's a contraction of newbie.
Scrub nad tryhard I've never heard/seen with relation to games, untill I came to the Dust forums, but this is my first multiplayer FPS so that may be why. I don't know what either means.
As to the term for someone who likes to have fun in games, I would have thought that is 'player' but from the number of people who claim to be players of the game and have no fun at all doing it, but who still hang around bitching about it, I'm not so sure anymore.

Alternate Insano wrote:If you play DUST you are a scrub. Scrubs are no good at popular fps games, so instead they come here where you can get good enough gear to negate any opposing player's superior skills. People here strafe a little back and forth over a triage hive and consider that to be 'skills' Noobs are the players who think this is anything but a poorly executed Pay 2 Win copy of BF3 with futuristic skins on everything. Not quite sure what that makes me then as whilst I do play Dust, I'm here because it's a CcP made game in the New Eden universe I have no interest at all in the popular FPS games and I couldn't care less about min/maxing my gear because I don't give a damn about my KDR or my ranking on the leaderboards. Also, I have never, as far as I can remember, strafed over a Triage hive.
I do know however that Dust isn't pay to win, buying Aurum gear will not guarantee you a win, actual skills and common sense, like not running towards a blaster tank whose gun is pointing at you, will win out most of the time.
As to the last part, having never actually played BF3, I just don't know, but at the same time, I do know that CCP will continue to try to improve this game for as long as it's economically viable for them to do so, also adding new content and trying to integrate it with EVE to try and make something truly unique.
If your opinion of this game is so low, feel free to leave and quit moaning about it here on the forums so the rest of us can try to be constructive.
