Alright now boys and girls, here are the "official" patch notes
What we buffed/changed
- Academy now requires you to get one kill to graduate. We came to this decision because if a new player gets one kill, they beat their opponent which means that they are ready to fight against everyone else.
- Tanks are now a dropsuit instead of a vehicle. You can spawn from the MCC as one and call in a super dropship to carry all of your tank buddies to the city. There your tank logi can drop tanklinks and tanknanos and rep you for WPs. Added funny cardboard box sound when tanks are "running" inside the city. O and the tanks are the same size as a heavy now so then can also fit inside buildings. We also might release a tank tank that shoots lightning from the cannon that does 10k damage with a blast radius of 40 meters. This will improve tanktank v tanktank gameplay.
- Buffed ability to neglect community forum posts
- Buffed Amarr colors in the combat pack from gold to mustard so Amarr players can dazzle enemies in their "gold" bling.
- Mass Driver gets a buff because we want players to easily kill enemies without aiming very well. You should be able to aim easily while having sand in your eyes, just finishing up an eye exam, and also finishing up your swim in a pool with a lot of chlorine.
What we nerfed
- Flaylock blast radius reduced to -.0023 meters because we can :P
- Our ability to notice obvious problems in the game
- The amount of time we play the game (nerfed from 1 hour a week to half an hour a week)
New features!
- Fluffier pillow in your merc quarters so you actually feel like you are in a fancy space station.
- New map features in the academy maps that show giant TVs everywhere promoting what the game will look like in 36 years and persuading new players to buy a lot of AUR from the market place.
- New weapons that we totally didn't design from real world weapons and we totally didn't make at least one of them like the Caldairy SMG OP.
- New map that is totally not the same map with just new texture colors.
- Invisible walls in certain locations that will add strategic value during certain gun fights. Even we don't know where they are at!
- 12 new fatal errors because we like to troll you all from time to time too <3.
Bug fixes
- Fixed issue where players would wait for 5 minutes to get a match. We are greatly sorry for making you wait 5 minutes because we know you all want to feel a more realistic experience. So we changed the time to 8 minutes to make you feel like you are actually going through the galaxy to find a contract.
- Fixed restocking issue where some items would not restock properly or it would take 2 minutes to restock. You can now order your items through Eve Online and wait 2 weeks for them to be shipped to your merc to put on your fit.
- Fixed the issue of players being able to leave wet floors in the forums from their tears. Players will now be able to filter all of their tears into a container located in their merc quarters.
- Fixed the issue of you all still having hope.
- Fixed the issue of not finding out about bugs until weeks after they have been flamed on the forums. Still working on fixing those bugs after we find out in less than a few months.

... I... I can't do it anymore...
I was originally typing this as a joke to mess around and was going to add a lot more but...
It's just sad...
* sigh *
CCP... please... why do you do this?
You act like we are a bunch of five year old kids so whenever we ask you something or give serious input, you just shake your heads up and down and say "we hear you, but let us grownups deal with it without you involved at all in actually deciding".
We are your playrbase, please treat us like it.
I'm sick of the unfulfilled promises...
I'm sick of being treated like I am just a pawn that can be easily tossed aside...
Can it ever be possible for you all to remake the whole patch process? The current system is broken because it shows that you are out of touch with what happens in game... I have kept telling you Devs to play more so you understand more but your response were always never existent.
When you have a new idea for a weapon or idea for fixing something, please tell us. Tell us so we can give you feedback. Do not keep things so secretive because it leads to patches that have had little peer review. We are your peers so let us review what your ideas are.
I know we can be very harsh and impatient but we are like that because of how things are. Sure many people are just trolls or jerks but many of us just want to help.
You need to think of a way to better communicate with the community. Maybe new threads just for scouts, heavies, tanks, dropships, assaults, logis, etc. There they can post what their current problems are. Such as logis complaining about equipment nerfs or AV weaknesses idk. I am just brainstorming here... Maybe the same thing for certain weapon users, idk
The only Devs I see actually try to make an effort to care about us and listen is Saberwing and Logibro. I am so glad that at least those two listen and sometimes respond to us. Heck, even Saberwing plays with us every now and then and sees what is going on in the game.
I understand that a lot of things said won't happen and will get ignored and I probably will get ignored but meh, that is how we are treated I guess...
I hope that one day, you will take our advice and change the way the patch process is done because the current system is broken.
Well... at least we get an update every month (almost), I am very grateful for that at least.
For me... my friends are the only reason I have stayed. I actually quit this game after the first two weeks I got it (got it when Uprising came out). My friends are the only reason I have Dust currently installed.
I'm done ranting... sorry about wasting everyone's time.

Also, you can control which way the arc dips when using grenades, so again you couldn't.

They may not go around filling individual players needs, but, the question remains...who the **** are they building this game for? It seems like one or two folks at CCP are just sitting around saying "Y'know what'd be cool?" and going off that sole premise. With no thought to how it affects ANYTHING else.

If it is for the people who want to play it, then listen to them and build the game with them. Just because they don't make you personally happy doesn't mean they don't listen to the players. You should change that "you" to "90% or more of the community".
The forums and player base count are good starting examples of how they don't please people.
They are nerfing things that no one asked to be severely nerfed (the Tac and Burst AR)
I understand trying to raise the TTK but nerfing those AR variants to hell is not right.
There is plenty of proof that the majority of the community gets frustrated often at CCP. Unlike many people, I am not going to cry about something I use getting nerfed or buffed. My point is that the way CCP comes up with patches is broken and needs to be tweaked or completely changed.

Each salvo inflicts 0 damage on tanks (ITS A TANK!!!!111) and 500HP bee sting damage on the user. - Fixed issue where some tankers did not have constant 'windows of opportunity'. Gunnlogis now come pre-fitted with ten hardeners. - Fixed issue where redline Thales users get countersniped or OBed. All units within redline are now immune to damage. - Fixed issue where mercs would get stuck in quicksand on hills. Every map is now entirely made of quicksand. - Fixed issue where some matches were not predetermined by the matchmaking. Frame rate is now a rock solid 5 FPS. |

Another gem of a QQ thread. Lol. This is how CCP works what don't you people understand? This is how they develop games. They listen to us and use or suggestions but they do it the way they want. Nothing new and it probably the won't change. Typing out a 10k character post doesn't change that and probably never will. We should be providing feedback in a productive manner about a small amount of problems not the entire game and what you think is wrong with the entire game. Just trying to save you some angry typing.

Are we their peers, and should they listen to us?
Yes.
But with the fact that 90% of the forums either want "Make this like EVE", or "This is OP, FIX IT! (But how do you think its OP) IDK, Its just OP!", or Just ***** about CCP regardless, Its amazing anything from these forums is useful, or helpful, or insightful into the games issues.
Half of the Threads now are "Y U NO GIIVE PACH NOTE CCP?", or like the 2nd example from above, the good points about things that are OP, or UP, or broken just gets sifted to the bottom of the pile while troll posts, and whiny bitches get brought to the top.
This is a issue pervasive in all online games. He who offends more people, and gets more replies wins.
Or, good threads with the possibility for good discussion get killed because the OP refuses to renegotiate his idea.
I think Saberwing and Logibro are the two remaining Community Devs, the rest are just getting stuff finished and ready for 1.8.
Maybe CCP Devs have a life. Sorry to say, but I mean, seriously. They probably test the game in Studio, and they work on it, so maybe we should stop with the "Play you game!" ****. Movie Directors don't constantly watch their movie. Chefs don't eat only their Le Cordon Bleu. People have lives outside of their job, and Its annoying how much people don't want to recognize this.
They treat us like five year olds because if they tell us anything, we act like five year olds. Look on the GD page. Just look. They DARE tell us something, and they get flamed, and pissed on. That's why you don't get told changes. That's why they treat us like five year olds. Because we act like five year olds when we're told anything.

If they even remotely tested the RR then there would be no way it would have been released in its current condition. Look at the fuel injectors for tanks when they were basically race cars, how could CCP ever miss that? They obviously did not test it and had to hot fix it.
They spend time thinking up new weapons and how to fix things but if they would just play the game and hear and see what is happening, they would learn. Someone told me this story once about the FG a while back. The FG got a nerf months ago because someone caught a game Dev playing and showed him and talked to him about the FG. After the Dev saw how it was, it was fixed. Believe the story at your own discretion, maybe someone else who was there can elaborate about this story.
I am not asking them to play a lot, just play a few hours a week or something... not one at most. They can learn a lot about the game from playing, just like everyone else.
How did fuel injector issue become noticed? From people who play
How did the TTK issue become noticed? From people who play
How did the RR & CR issue become noticed? From people who play
etc.

Hate to admit it, but this is basically right. 40 hours a week. That's our average work week...how many of us damn near PLAY that much...but don't have enough work to leave the game to go and do? It's exactly that. They have to put it together.
I do feel that there should be a test server. Make Oceania a testing ground. I bet people would come riding in from all around the world to say "nonononono" or "YESSSSSS!" to any of the changes.
Look at successful free-to-play models, like League of Legends. This doesn't move in on their turf, so copy some of their good ideas.
In regards to the entitlement of the masses...well, whatever. People aren't going to change their tune just because someone is being reasonable. We'll keep grouching and moaning. However, if the setup and delivery of this service were to change, DUST may have a brighter future than it appears to now.
Hi! Gosh, I've missed you...with every bullet, plasma shot, rail gun, and missile.

I agree with you a lot but they barely play the game. From people who play How did the TTK issue become noticed? From people who play How did the RR & CR issue become noticed? From people who play etc. And that's the job of Players.
To let the devs know this while they work on the game, and then enjoy their own lives after work ends.
Whats more amazing is that Sony QA didn't ask CCP if they mean't Militia Fuel Injector was supposed to work like that.
Should they test the game some more? Yeah. But look now. People are up in arms because its been several months before a new patch.
Imagine if they took another month each patch to test stuff, and optimize the game, and make it better? Be awesome, right?
But the community, by the 3rd week of the first month, would be questioning Patch Notes.
And mainly, I think the Balance issues arise from Sony's QA not caring about the balance, and just about the bugs.
Just to let you know, I think Sony QA's the patches for like 1-2 weeks every patch, so perhaps time crunch?
Heard about the QA a while back was about 1 week, back when CCP started this one month patch cycle. I think.
Not being a "CCP Apologist", and I understand the annoyance (Y U NO FIX FUKING MMING?) but time must be given, and promises sometimes can't be kept because some random issue.
Because you Wanted to be Something your Not.
