More choices is good since it keeps variety.
Who cares if a year from now folks ask again for a respec?
The number one thing is what will either increase the playerbase or keep more folks playing.

I love where folks like you say no respec and then mention it benefits the vets.

The Corp talk is folks getting a PS4 and waiting for Planetside 2 and Destiny.
Once they are go then I will play where my friends are playing and that probably will be PS2 and Destiny.
Its simple math where if Dust 514 player counts drop to 2000 or less then CCP will be very willing to do what the playerbase asks(well those players that are still there..lol).

In sum:
Not going to missout on next gen gameing goodness.
An unresponsive CCP just makes more players look at PS4.

A single game will not drop Dust 514 player numbers.
However:
Many PS4 nextgen games comeing out will to the tune of Dust? umm sorry bro my Corp is playing on --------PS4 game.
Well what about some Dust next day? sorry bro just got some PS4 game from Best Buy but ummm let me see about next weekend? k??
And next weekend was also tied up with PS4 gameing goodness so sorry PS3 no time anymore.

People have been saying the same thing about EVE for 10 years and it is still the best out there and doing well. We should get over the short sightedness and look a the big picture and towards the future. Don't get so down over a game, just play or don't but it isn't a good thing to be so emotionally invested in.
Dust=/=EVE
PS3=/=home computer/laptop
Dusts 16 versus 16 is NOT the future.
Dust is just a PLACEHOLDER.
Here is the FUTURE:
64 versus 64
128 versus 128
256 versus 256
Terrain destructability
100 km by 100 km maps
50 to 100 or MORE maps.
The FUTURE is PS4.
