Not gonna bother saying anything bout the new weapons update. It
speaks for itself but the question has to be asked, how many of the
people making this game have active accounts?

Why would somebody with access to game-worthy PCs play this thing?

Play it? Probably all of them.
Play it as much as we do? Doubtful.
What matters more is they have the ability to report on data. I can say, "X is OP!" until I am blue in the face, but until I can request a report on the amount of damage X has inflicted in 30 days, how many kills were made with X, how far away were those kills on average, what suits died the most to X, what suits survived the most to X...

This is why it has taken so long for the damage nerf to come through. They told us months ago it was coming, and that they had pushed an update that allowed them to collect statistics on weapon damage. Facts are more useful than opinions. |

Exactly.
Why do you think we have weapon-themed events sometimes? CCP wants to have us murder each other with specific weapons (or roles: Shinobi event) so they can review the data.

If this game was balanced, the introduction of new stuff wouldn't be enticing enough to people who like to use their playstyle. If new stuff is always OP (oops!), then everyone is always grinding to stay ahead in a rigged arms race. If it works long enough, CCP will take this thing to a paid subscription model, because they know they are flush with masochists.

I imagine it's like being a professional cook; you spend all day catering to people that are rude and unappreciative of you and your coworkers. After filling yourself on mistakes and rounfing your belly on free drinks, sitting down to a meal is the last thing you want to do.

Meh, as much **** as I give CCP, they aren't idiots. They know how to use data... When X weapon is earning 80% of the kills in the game EXAMINE THIS WEAPON FOR BALANCE IMMEDIATELY. See what I mean? CCP's problem is they are slower than Christmas. They take all that juicy data and mull it over for 400% longer than they need to.
