Stats on Heavy Resistances
So there's a lot of talk about how invincible heavies will be in 1.8. I'm here to say differently.
Caldari Heavies will be easily dealt with by a simple flux grenade. After that, you can have at their armor quite easily. You'll have to deal with the shields regenerating but if you keep a constant fire, they'll be down in no time. Their greatest threat is probably the Combat Rifle. One flux in and constant heads shots...
Alternatively, you could still use the Scrambler Rifle and HS them to death...They might gain a resistance to the weapon but right now it only takes two-three charge shots for heavies to go down. Laser Rifle will also be worthy as you can hit them from a good distance now with a constant spray.
Gallente are extremely vulnerable to the one thing you would've imagine they'd survive against...EXPLOSIONS. Mass Drivers is their source of hatred come 1.8. They can regenerate all the health they want but that won't save them from a couple of grenades to the face, plus splash damage.
Minmatar heavies are resistant against lasers when it comes to their shields. When using blaster tech, you can still deplete their shields without resistance but the armor is the issue. 1 low slot for standards means they can only stack armor or repair and more than likely they'll be stacking repair modules. All of this means that the AR, and Ion Pistol, is still suitable for taking them down. You could also use a flux and Combat Rifle, or Rail Technology. Their armor isn't resistant to explosives either.
The Amarr? Not resistance to lasers...I don't know about you but that's pretty funny. Considering how slow the Amarr are and how relentless the laser rifle and ScR, and SPistols will be, they should be easy pickings. Carry a flaylock, mass driver, or Ion Pistol along with these other weapons and it should be quick work. Personally, I'm going to use a Scrambler Pistol to HS them until they only have armor and then waste them with my AR.

Yes, there is a preferred way to kill each individual Sentinel, if you had BatmanGÇÖs level of preparation. But in a fight, there is no reason you canGÇÖt be advanced upon by one of each at the same time. So assume I am standing on a Supply Depot when I try to engage two or more different Sentinels at once. Even in that case, most of the community isnGÇÖt specGÇÖd into Mass Drivers and Flaylock Pistols and Scrambler Rifles and Combat Rifles and Laser Rifles, with a stockpile of suits featuring each one.
In a practical sense, every Proto level Sentinel will be running around with 1500 to 1800 EHP. Even with the perfect situational weapon, you in an Assault suit will have a significantly smaller pool of health, facing down an HMG. Or a Combat Rifle. Or a Rail Rifle. And you wonGÇÖt have any resistances to ANY of them.
Yes, Sentinels will die. They aren't immortals. But don't pretend like it's child's play to just have the perfect weapon every time.
You don't need Batman's level of preparation. Quite honestly, all you would need is a Mass Driver/Flaylock and some fluxes for any sentinel. None of them have resistances to explosives or EMPs. That's honestly the best combo against them right now.
If you're advanced upon by any four of anything, you're more than likely screwed...That's not a good enough argument. And if you're not spec'd into the weapon that kills a certain type of heavy the fastest at that moment, then tough cookies... Doesn't matter what you have, you can still kill one of the four heavies faster than others.
You running the AR and Sc Pistol? You'll do good against an Amarr heavy. You run a Rail Rifle with a MagSec? You're better at taking down Minmatar heavies.
Since the rifles got a nerf and only the Commandos and Assaults get bonuses to these weapons, it's much more likely that the Heavies use of RRs and CRs won't be as viable as they are now.

"Any competent."
"Competent."
You new to Dust?
The current issues with heavies isn't about competence, it's about them being cheaper than you yet having more eHP and the same potential, if not better potential, at being offensive than assaults.
Come 1.8, rifles will be nerfed along with other weapons and Commandos and Assaults have actual buffs for these rifles.
The ultimate heavy killer is the Commando but because of how specialized they are, I'm not going to say: "Just go Commando."

Ehh. I bet once it comes around and you have to deal with them, you'll deal with them better than most.

Doesn't mean that much when it comes to this.
