So I was reading the devblog and I saw something I was really hoping I wasn't gonna see.
You still nerfed the Breach AR.
I know it was a longshot, but I was really hoping you guys would let it have a bit more of a place in the game as a really viable damage dealer and not be such a niche weapon for people like me who just try to make it work against the odds because they can.
Let's look at its stats for a moment and I'll show you why I think that if you left it with its current values it would become a real option, while still not what would be considered OP or game breaking by any means.
Here are the old stats of the Breach versus a few other weapons of its type.
Breach AR 400 RPM 51 Damage per Bullet 36 Clip Size 340 DPS
Assault Rifle 750 RPM 34 Damage per Bullet 60 Clip Size 425 DPS
Rail Rifle 461.54 RPM 55 Damage per bullet 42 Clip Size 423 DPS
Assault Rail Rifle 600 RPM 45.04 Damage per Bullet 42 Clip Size 456 DPS
Assault Scrambler Rifle 705.88 RPM 36 Damage per Bullet 72 Clip Size 423 DPS
Assault Combat Rifle 1200 RPM 22 Damage per Bullet 68 Clip Size 440 DPS
So we can basically see that the Breach AR is a Rail Rifle with worse stats in every way.
It's less accurate It does less damage per bullet It fires slower It has less range It has a smaller clip capacity The Rail Rifle puts out 25% more DPS overall
It just is completely outclasses by every other weapon. But let's look at the new DPS values after their nerfs of the weapons in 1.8.
BAR = 300 AR = 375 RR = 361 ARR = 374 AScR = 382 ACR = 400
Again outclassed by a minimum of 25% and up to 33% by the ACR. But remember the old value?
340 DPS
If we plug that in it looks more reasonable by a mile.
BAR = 340 AR = 375 RR = 361 ARR = 374 AScR = 382 ACR = 400
If it kept its default damage off 51 per shot it would be the highest per shot assault weapon of the full auto variants, but again would maintain an overall DPS that is still the lowest from its bad RoF and lowest clip size while being at least a little bit more competitive.
So I beg of you to at least please please please consider this or buffing it in some other way like its RoF; I don't want my Breach thrown in the dustbin.... |

yeah man for the past couple months the only reason to use it is to style on people, plus it sounds great. it is a useless weapon compared to all the other variants. |

I still use the TacAR regularly and it got nerfed as well. |

Breach, burst, tactical AR got nerfed more than the ScR or assault CR. Makes no sense whatsoever. |

Honestly though, this is something that should be seriously considered. There shouldn't be weapons that literally have no pros vs cons and are just completely worse than every other weapon by such a margin that if you didn't nerf it in 1.8, it still manages to have the worst DPS of any assault weapon in the game...
Did I also mention the tougher fitting cost as well as it being more expensive?
C'mon CCP keep the old values for the gun or show some love for it in some way. |

Yes it does. There was less boosterlicious SP grind in those well-plowed fields. CR/RR will be nerfed to the ocean's floor in four months when the empty-tree replacements arrive, mark it down.
Unless you're just addicted to wetsuit paperdolls...
