This has happened before with the Railgun, however I have been experiencing in matches yesterday and this morning on the Assault forge gun variant, repeatedly
- Weapon charges - doesn't discharge a shot 1) sometimes lets the shot off 1-3 seconds later or 2) starts charging again and then fires or 1) again
switching weapons doesn't seem to fix this either or so I have found this is kinda game/role breaking due the the weapon being a kill or be killed one shot, especially with vehicles involved when a full clip is required in most cases plus doesn't go well with the Heavy event
Have others been experiencing this ?

yes this happens to me quite often. frustrating as. have noticed it only happens with certain players in the game. i played a few games against this one guy, he had a tank. forge gun would work firing at everyone else but his tank. seen this many times. my rail tank has done the same thing before as well, turret would just fire blanks at certain tanks. makes a sound but nothing comes out, no loss of ammo. |

I didn't notice that, but I'll definitely keep en eye on it!

It's just a de-sync with the server. The weapon itself is "charge-to-fire" meaning it takes time to charge(Duh).
What this means is that if the battle server is running slow due to something on that node hogging resources the battle server will run slower. The client expects that it takes X amount of time to charge up but when the server tells the client that it hasn't been enough time (Because the server is behind schedule). You will see it happen a lot when people skip around or when your internet has packet loss.
This isn't the only cause but it's a large portion of the usual causes. There could also be something wrong in their netcode when it comes to sending charge-to-fire weapon's progress while charging.
It seems that most charge-to-fire weapons have this problem. Forges, railguns and rail rifles are all known to do this and many of us call them "phantom shots" because they look like they fire client side in most cases.
