Dust should have skills that:
-Increase the chances of Plasma, Explosive, etc. weapons landing critical hits -Increase the distance at which a type of grenade can be thrown -Increase DoT effect time of my imaginary DoT based weapons (flamethrower for heavies) -Increase jump height -Increase movement, not sprinting, speed -Increase shield/armor resistances to Plasma, Explosive, etc. weapons -Increase speed of melee based attacks -Increase zoom of ADS for x weapon -Decrease stamina consumption of melee based attacks -Decrease the detonation time of a type of grenade -Decrease sway for weapons affected by ADS sway -Increase/decrease whatever I couldn't think of... blah blah blah
Add all of this and more to the already existing skills in the game whilst eliminating all tiers of weapons, modules, and Dropsuits and I say we'll have a pretty unique and enjoyable game on our hands.
What type of skills would you suggest?

I've always liked the general idea of having more little skills like this, but do not like your first suggestion. Let's please leave the element of "chance" out of all competitive multiplayer games.
Mail me in game if interested in learning about the Amarr Empire and serving them in Faction Warfare.

It won't negate the need for higher tiers. Just look at the passives now.
I like where this is going, though. I hope many contribute to this thread.

I am all for more skills and modules. People made fun of my post that stated we need AV modules that change how fast things charge, lock or shoot or damage mods for AV but I bet if we had those now HAVs wouldn't be a problem like they are. MORE CONTENT of any kind is needed.

Just CCP didn't sit down for a day or two to decide on what bonus a skill is geting that would be relevent and useful to the skill.
If the tiers changed a non-combat portion, while improve the character enough to make it worthwhile, then Proto and adv wouldn't be necessary.
Just a lack of effort of the skill team. Can be fixed by going through and making skills worthwhile, with a small amount of effort to remove the unneeded tiers.

Whoa! This is freaking awesome Wolf. I really like how you assigned different status effects for the damage types. It looks fun and exciting. But it needs more polishing. Keep up the good work.

yeah still spitballing also all weapon bonuses move locally to the weapons themselves so its possible to get weapons 2 bonuses.

Out of boredom if the devs use it its their prerogative and I don't bring these things to their attention.
