RR heavies suck. No matter how OP the next range weapon is it does not work well on the heavy suit. Our hit box is too big, we move too slow to find cover which most people who engage in range fights do - and taking a shot jukes your aim - so your larger hitbox has made it so returning fire is more difficult as well as make you an easier target. Now let's throw in how the heavies health adds .5 seconds to your survival time and how there's a slow effect on your suit when sustaining fire.
Range combat is not a heavies friend. A decent player will always trump you. |

A decent player will always trump you. Heavies have the ability to move as fast as assaults and still maintain 1200+ HP. EDIT and their 75Meters away just burning through you anyway you don't need to be close with a rail rifle.
Speed was only a small factor to the over-all calculation of why range + heavies doesn't work. Even if you cancel it out - which you would do so by giving up 1-2 slots.... you still have the larger hit box, bullet slowing mechanic, and gun juking when fired at mechanic.
Imo - it's the combination of larger hit box + weapon juke when hit that makes the heavy suit unreliable for range combat. If you get rid of the juke - maybe my health that lasts a whole second longer under fire might mean enough for me to line up the shot and take it. But as it stands any heavy suit with a range weapon and not on a roof is wasting himself. |
