I enjoy the hell out of bringing in a dropship and flying with you. What's the name of the other really good pilot in our corp? I've only played with him once but I can't for the life of me remember his name. I've been in a few matches with SirSnugglz and Blackhole. They are excellent pilots. It's funny but you could make a top ten best ADS pilots and guess what? There aren't going to be many others after the first ten. Good ADS pilots are a rarity. I'm a crap pilot. I know it, forgers know it, rails know it, hell even dogs know it, but I love the hell out of it. We can pickle that.

Easy, it has nothing to do with skill. If you do not understand the flight mechanics of a flying in general, flying in terms of dropships, are not willing to invest the time and effort to learn these mechanics, understanding the basic role of derpshiping... kind of like those people who fly a viper for a day and start calling calling themselves pilots only to complain on the forums on how dumb vipers are and therefore all derpship types being equally dumb and pledge to never fly one yet still believe ADS pilots fly because its easy to get kills (irony) and blah blah blah... (FYI: my gunners have gone 19/0 in my Viper, it is possible to make a deadly viper). Get the difference??? Similar to the difference between a real tanker and tank spammer. They are easy to identify. I see a lot of people commit suicide in dropships and crash into buildings, anybody who doesn't do that is a good dropship user I guess...

Ghosts Chance Inf4m0us 1185	Posted - 2014.03.02 11:23:00 - [21] - Quote there isnt really a best dropship pilot, its simply not possable with the game how it is right now. at best you reach a point in your skills as a pilot that you gain recognition from the other top pilots and thats as far as it goes. when top pilots fight each other niether of them wins, i test new pilots by giving them love taps with my hardeners on to see if they can dodge me or outfly me because i know they cant shoot me down. then again while i can fly amung the top pilots and oftin fly in formation with some of them, im still mostly a part time pilot as i use them more for their transport ability as well as their ability to conquer the rooftops :P

Lol, but all that aside I agree, and we've been through this discussion before when people were trying to vote for the "Best dropship pilot". There's only a true vote for the "most famous" dropship pilot often, because us vets are around 10-20 strong (probably more that aren't vocal) and we are all relatively on the exact same skill level when it comes to how we attack. And there are also the newbie pilots like yesterday, in which i took down 2 Pythons, 1 Incubus, and 1 Madrugar in the same match. (didn't seem like the pythons were well fitted, except for 1) and one of these pilots was an Ahrendee Merc, but he wasn't and isn't apart of 1st Airborne (unfortunately). Tankers are being diagnosed with a new disease; Cancer of the Assault Dropship. Many of them don't survive.

I know im not the best but I want to be that crazy pacifist acrobrat dropship pilot. I dream of dipping to 3m above ground and off loading a heavy right to your front door. I love flying in Dust 514. Just taking off and soaring is a rewarding experience. Alas skill may only be confined to those who go double digits in a match, and the pilot who can fly towards a enemy stronghold, LAND safely, off load a squad, and zip out alive in a STD dropship will never be reconized. Just taking off and soaring is a rewarding experience. Derpship pilots are barely starting to get the spotlight in PC. Many corps are still against it and would never put a pilot in their team to replace a slayer,logi, or another tank. I've been trying for months to show how effective they could be. Foxhound is another great pilot who is active in PC. Many corps have begun to train people in derpships for the sole purpose of having one in PC. dwater is a great example. I think he's gotten so much better simply by flying in PC compared to just pubbing it. It would have taken longer if he wasn't given that PC opportunities. Why does this make me any different from how I was in TUL? BTW i was in TUL for 9 months and I would not left had certain issues come up. The sad part about this amazing vehicle, to me, is how only now do we finally get recognition for flying. Back in 1.7 these things sucked balls, back in chrome there was no ADS, I had to have guys get kills for me. It angered me just a little that we dropship pilots were the backbone of so many great scores back then, yet the gunner received all the praise or hate mail. Another thing that gets to me is, as snugglez puts it, the splurge of random blues who specced into it now that it got the buff it finally deserved. Now to get to you, what the heck makes you think piloting these days in any easier than in those days? We still have to worry more about AV even more now that tank spam has become the norm. Everybody and their mother breaks out a forge and a set of swarms the first sight of us, but most every random blue dot would just give up when they see a tank squad. I'm not saying I'm the best, or even on par with some of these guys, heck, I might be one of those punk pilots I and Snugglez are going on about, but you insult the name pilot when you say we aren't balanced just because someones militia swarms and forges no longer have any effect on us, this vehicle buff we deserved. If you guys are as good of pilots as you say y'all are AV shouldn't be too much a problem.. I say this because NOW I HAVE to use a PROTO forge to take you guys down and even then it's not guaranteed considering you can get out of range quickly, hardeners, etc.. Considering this account I have an ADV Forge (breach) with two complex dmg mods and it does a lot of damage for the first shot then either you fly away and I'd be wasting ammo and you now know my position.. I've even noticed on my alt if I hit a vehicle user with my IAFG they panic and use hardeners which I will be useless as they either kill me or my team then drive/fly away and get full health and repeat.. Modules on vehicles are too effect atm and needs toning down.. But even then I find it funny that if militia is all someone has just because you have a vehicle means you are invincible to them really.. to me everyone is sad and just want to be OP... /rant

On the whole rainbows stomping thing, there are 35 of us, max 15 on at any one time, we run in squads of 3 with the spaces filled with friends 90% of the time and we now tend to run adv stuff. The point is coming when you are going to have to admit that we are just better than much of the opposition. Many of the people we play have just as much SP as us and we still red line. We want to fight you guys hard, but when you see a full squad of certain corps redlined by 3 rainbows who are not trying its sad. Thank you to all the guys who bring it all against us (e.g. WESKERS, WTF and many others). Next time you see us if you actually try we will both enjoy the game much more. I made an Alt a few days ago Joined an ambush, red team had RE squad.... Blue's had nothing The proof was in the killfeed as the 7 blue kills were all Militia gear, While all of the red kills came from Proto gear .... From looking at my teammates 14/16 were in MLT suits Whereas the red's had over 10 full proto's on their side... So in that case, why should the 2/16 guys with good gear try to fight ?? Love you evo But seriously its true, I got to hand it to snugglz he's probably the best I've seen at using the pilot gun, personally I think its a tie between him and serimos. Though that's one aspect of dropships, there are many different ways to fly and while serimos and snugglz are both amazing at using their guns that doesn't make them "the best pilot in dust" unless of course your asking who the best pilot is with the pilot gun. For me, I tally how many tanks my crew destroys, how many objectives we hacked, how we turned the tide of battle by showing up where we were needed. For kills I add my gunners and what little I have together to see how we preformed. I don't like flying solo in a dropship, I also rarely use my pilot gun except on tanks and the stray red. Does this make me a bad pilot? Of course not. Evo here is a crazy ass pilot, he tries fits not many would, and somehow manages to do well with them. He also fly's like an absolute madman but in the graceful, I know what I'm doing, sort of way. He is an ace pilot, one of the best! Any corp should know that evo is an ace, and could preform just as well as snuggles or serimos or nova or myself. After all that's the ultimate goal right? Mercenary's? I like staying under the radar, makes it easier to line up my strafe runs

If a squad of low sp players wants to take down a tank there is no excuse any more, any tanker will tell you that. If you are not in a squad and you come up against a squad then you cannot be upset, this is a squad focused game after all. I just stated that many of us are running adv gear, I'm running a dragonfly scout half the time with a 5k suit, and I see many of your boys running full proto what's the excuse then? I just find it hard to believe that there is no one who is just lacking in quality, that the entire problem is SP. I'm not saying you guys are bad, far from it, you can take me down regularly, I'm stating that there is a skill element to this game and that not everyone has it. I just skilled into ADS the other day and am having a BLAST with them! Wish aiming were easier, but whaddyagonnado? So far, I've found that surviving in an ADS is easy-peasy: things get hectic, rock hardeners/boosters, GTFO for a little bit, and then right back into the fray! They handle so well, it's easy to dodge attacks from the same source after the first hit. I've also found that, even though my ADS gun game is crap at the moment and I don't kill much much, I've been getting plenty of assists, and besides, I've driven tanks back to their redline single-handed. Right now, I'm working on my "tank shepherding" skills, seeing if I can get a given tank/s to move to a certain area of the map. Just want to say that I like how vocal this section of the Dust community is! See you at the ceiling! Have you seen my baseball?

I think the forge is exactly where it should be in terms of going against derpships.
