This heavy event has shown me how ludicrous heavies have become after all the buffs from 1.2 - 1.7. And now you're making yet another buff in 1.8.
Every single match that I hated this week had heavy spam. I fricking wish they would return to Gal Logis with RR's.
Fricking Minmatar Heavy is going to be faster than my assault, have more eHP, and with that boundless HMG shred me to pieces in an instant. Yeah, totally absolutely fine.
I'm done, I'm going to play my backlog of games.
You guys can laugh all you want, I'm sick of heavy spam, and I put 10mil ISK down that in 1.8 everyone is going to cry about heavies.
See ya in 1.9/2.0/whatever And so it begins...

Spectral Clone wrote:EHP buff Turn speed buff HMG spread buff Just a note on the Turn speed buff. It means a Heavy will turn as fast as an Assault suit equipped with the same weapon. With a Shotgun they will turn slower than with an Assault rifle. With an HMG, the Heavy turns even slower than with a shotgun.
In short, the Turn speed buff does not effect Heavies using Heavy weapons because heavy weapons continue to have slow tracking speeds.

42 meters. From full to zero. I know how long it would take to kill someone with an HMG at 42m. Were they AFK?
Before the HMG GÇ£BuffGÇ¥ I managed to get a kill at 62m with my HMG, but since the GÇ£BuffGÇ¥ I have only gotten a couple of kills at over 30m. When they were fixing the dispersion, they also cut the effective range in half. I miss my Precision HMG. I wish they would introduce a Precision HMG which worked like the 1.6 HMG. It would be my pick when playing Manis Peak.

Has anyone mentioned the Sloth effect in this thread? Now there is an HMG related issue that does need to be fixed.
The Sloth effect was added when we had poor hit detection. When you get hit by a bullet it slows you down. When you get hit by a weapon with a high rate of fire such as an HMG, Combat Rifle, or SMG it slows you down to about 50% of walking speed. So when you are being hit you canGÇÖt get to cover because you are slowed down.
The Sloth effect needs to be removed from the game, or toned down. It is one of the most frustrating mechanics in the game!
The effect has been there for a long time, but before hit detection was fixed you usually were not getting hit by enough bullets to get slowed down too much. It was more noticeable after hit detection was fixed. It became unbearably annoying when the Combat Rifle was added to the game and the HMG was fixed.
If you have not noticed it, pay attention to how fast you move when you are getting hit.
I fully support removing the Sloth effect. It is not needed anymore and is extremely frustrating.

Scheherazade VII wrote:5 and 20 metres? The HMG has no problem killing at even 35-40 metres. Making some CQC maps and interior objectives quite difficult to face heavies in as you are NEVER outside of their optimum range which introduces the rage-inducing spam. If you are talking about Assault HMGGÇÖs, they sacrifice a lot of CQC damage to be effective at 35 - 40 m.
