...has to be one of the most terribly thought out maps I have ever suffered though in a videogame. I've had disdain for this map ever since I started playing back at the launch of Uprising, and it's only gotten exponentially worse with each update. Now, I understand having maps that reward different playstyles, some that reward vehicles, some that reward sniping? But did it have to be the same goddang map?! If you've got 1 sniper on your team and 1 well placed rail tank in skirmish, congratulations, you've made two points completely unhackable with almost no effort. I thought the devs said that they made it a point to not have objectives out in the open to avoid problems like this.
Now I pride myself on a never give up attitude, and usually fight my way into a deficit if I'm passionate about the match. But if you're on the wrong team on Manus Peak, it becomes, no hyperbole intended, unplayable in skirmish. In domination I've never seen a map so handily give one team such a huge advantage, It's a beautiful sight if the team starting on the northerm end can overcome and take over, but that happens so rarely that I think I might have only seen it in a fever dream. I can't say what it's like on ambush since I rarely mess with that mode (I know my limits) but from what I hear, it's hell on....earth I guess. Although iirc, ambush on Manus Peak is the main reason that I almost never play ambush anymore.
I know that CCP has rearranged the null cannon layout out on maps before when they weren't working as intended, and if there is any map that isn't working as intended, it's gotta be Manus Peak.
...That said, Line Harvest, Border Gulch, and Fracture Road are really fantastic (even on ambush) and work well for most play styles from the look of things (maybe not so much for redline snipers on border gulch, but who cares about them?). More maps like those please, and thank you. |

Michael Arck wrote:Keep fighting and keep at it. Manus Peak was the source of my woes too when I first started, especially laser FOTM days. You will learn. Each time you play, you will learn. And hopefully your corpmates learn as well (if you're squadding with them). Before long, you will come to enjoy that map. Good luck
It's been almost a year now.... I don't see that happening. Am I the only one that thinks there's a major issues with the northern and western null cannon placements on this map? More so than another other null cannon I can think of in the game? |
