A gauss canon, or gun is a rail weapon that fires several small projectiles at once in a concentrated cone.
1.5-2 second charge rate per shot.
4 shots pe mag.
Optimal, and Max range comparable to the plasma rifle.
A tight spread for Med range combat.
The tighter the spread, the harder it is you use that weapon in cqc situations.
So yea, a shot gun that sucks at close range.

I was honestly imagining a slug-gun(basically, it fires a group of pellets, with a very small cone over a longer distance) Was also imagining it as a pump action for caldari.
I make the breach work decently on my scout fits, so I want to see what kind of horrors this thing could wreak.
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

if it has a tight spread more projectiles would still hit the closer you are

Cannon implies larger calibur weapon though.
Gauss however could be a tech to use for the shotgun though as gaussian seems to be shifting twoards the idea of a permanently fielded magnet that gets fed ammo to fling. .

Cannon just means "tube" I think, and early Chinese cannons would be smaller than what our heavies seem to carry around. A "hand-cannon" is not necessarily artillery for example.
I'm not sure that I "like" this idea, but cannons have often fired loads of things like "grapeshot", etc. that were not single large caliber loads. |
