I'm confused because in eve im pretty sure it's amarr. maybe i am wrong but it is confusing in dust. I want to pick the race that has the most hp at the cost of speed/ damage potential/ utility. Can anyone explain which race has the most hp tanking potential in this game? and if there is none or it will be different in 1.8 can you mention that as well? |

The Amarr are expected to dual tank in Dust *disgusted shiver* so they are meant to have the highest eHP.

Well Amarr has the highest base ehp and the lowest base speed. They also have the lowest slot count, but highest base CPU/PG.
So even though they can't fit more mods, they can fit higher quality ones.
Basically, the suit with the most lows can get the highest total ehp in game, and that would be Gallente. For some reason they made Gallente with the most base armour, I guess for balancing reasons.

i've seen the slots for gallente vs amarr and the gallente seem to have more tanking potential, am i wrong? |

The Amarr have the highest BASE eHP but in the end, everyone's eHP values come out to around the same. The Amarr were also given an unfair speed penalty due to the ILLUSION that we can attain the highest eHP values.
CCP has stated that in 1.8 they are changing it so that the Amarr will be pure armor tankers thus increasing the amount of inherent aHP and decreasing the amount if inherent sHP thus making the speed penalty more viable and make sense.
I could list the ways how we Amarr are better than you, but your lesser mind wouldn't comprehend it.

Definitely Amarr. People may talk about Gallente because of their low slots, but those were intended for making Gallente suits versatile, not tanked. 1.7 just encouraged them to.
Normally I wouldn't reference lore, but the 1.8 stats released show that CCP wants to bring the races in line with their EVE counterparts, in which the Amarr are the unquestionable tankers.

Thing is that a low base speed AND armor mods = very slow. |

You would be a fool to place shield extenders on a Gallentean suit. |

I meant that gallente suits seem to have more hp potential in terms of low slots |
