Will sign in next time I am logged in. Great idea I run Flaylock on 90% of my suits and have gotten pretty good with it, but always room for improvement.

Awesome, I have the Flaylock on 100% of my suits.. Some suits have 2 Flaylocks :P
I also have Prof 5 / Rapid Reload 5 / Ammo Cap 4 / Optimization 3 (Had to squeeze them tight on some suits )
I find the weapon great for annihilating these new breeds of scouts, it's great for staying on the move while you are shooting and dealing damage/ keeping enemy's at bay while my shield + rep kicks in

You are not alone. Many people are turned off by this weapon, I suppose the shots are a little harder to hit than all the other sidearms out there (except maybe the Nova Knives, which do take a different standard of effort to use)
Yet every weapon in DUST 514 has it's own niche.
For Instance- the flaylock is the only sidearm that can hit your enemies before they can see you because you can use the blast damage to hit them before they get around the corner.. That's if you know your enemy is heading that way so i would often wear Precision enhancers and range amplifiers.
Secondly, the flaylock works great when fired DOWN towards your enemies because shooting at an upward angle is a lot harder to land. So either climbing up short buildings ( no bigger than 50m because that is how far the Flaylock will reach before it self detonates) so you can empty clips quickly into clone domes OR wearing some Kincats and Cardios so you can jump around and get that downward angle you might need.
Good luck.

I have Dual Flaylocks fit as well Only ones that I don't are CR/KN for some maps Working my Rapid reload up only at 3 right now but worth the SP. Prof is only 3 Have not upped my ammo count yet but i do ned to, running out more often in 1.8

Before 1.8 I was using Commando specifically to dual Flaylock because it gave the 5% reload speed bonus to sidearms The patch notes for 1.8 showed that Commandos were doing to keep that very bonus.. Yet to my surprise after I had already spent my SP into commandos I realized CCP completely let me down and left out the key to my Flaylock Monster...
Anyways you are doing the right thing by getting the rapid reload first, I find that more important.
