It may seem pointless and even petty in many respects but I feel this is somewhat justified given the amount of money charged for, by CCP, and exploited out of me as a Oceanic PSN users, but I am seriously let down by the lack of effort put into the Faction Pack, specifically for the Amarr.
Initially after reading the description of the Amarr faction pack, this being
"The imperial looks and heavy firepower of the Amarr faction are yours with this complete set of dropsuits and gear, including the golden 'Imperial Guard' ak.0 assault suit that stands out among the others and 'Stormvein' Carthum assault scrambler rifle. Your mercenary is armed for today and prepared for the future, with 100 copies each of both advanced and prototype versions of every item in the pack."
As stated https://dust514.com/news/2014/02/new-in-the-marketplace-february-25-2014/
I feel somewhat disappointed at the lack of effort put into the reskin of the content for this package.
Now firstly let me state that I by no means am requesting renumeration for the packs I bought, far from it, the content within functions as effectively as any other, and I wish to support this game, since I do in fact love it. However my issue stands simply with the lack of effort put into the reskinning of these suits
Now admittedly I am very vain, and even the chance to make use of, and Favourite the so called "Golden Imperial Guard" dropsuit was very exciting, even the possibility of simply having, as a sort of collectible, the "Imperial Guard" Assault suit, as I have almost all of the other limited/aurum edition Amarr dropsuit content, was reason enough to purchase the pack.
However when viewing the items I felt hugely let down with the results.
Initially one might have been expecting a colour scheme befitting the Imperial Navy- the Platinum/Silver and Black Patterns Or maybe something akin to a Templar Suit, modified slightly- Reds and Silvers, or even Golds
But what we received was not even close to being remotely what the blurb for the pack stated.
There was no gold on any dropsuit in the package.
The "Imperial Guard" A/1 cannot even be remotely called golden. Its is a dull and drab green/yellow, unbefitting the Amarr, and of course ruining the image of the dropsuit.
The "Imperial Guard "Ak.0 was simply put, and disgustingly so, not even reskinned, a barely concealed "Neo" Ak.0 with a slight orange?
ORANGE FOR Gods damn sake CCP what it is with you and bloody orange? The ******* Protectorate suit is bloody orange now, yet another suit that godawful colour has ruined for me.
My simple question is why bother is the result are going to be so visually unappealing, and also lack lustre, had they been simle "neo" skins I would not have been disappointed, but the fact that the colours were changed even slightly, and to such poorly chosen, and anaesthetically pleasing is frustrating.
I fail to understand the significance of Orange and the inability to produce a pleasant looking golden, or even silver colour.
Now my Issue here is two fold.
Not only was the content released missing the Gold, mentioned, and promised in the blurb, not present in the content that I paid for. This being my primary concern.
But additionally I only served to make me concerned that barely put any effort into the content release as small as it maybe, and as simple as that would have been to incorporate.
I want to keep supporting Dust financially, and as a regular player, but this content release, only needing a simple reskin and adherence to the promises made in the blurb attached to have made this a resounding success. However CCP, as a customer I am rather dissatisfied with the purchase as a whole, not because of costs, or some such reason, but simply because the small little bits of effort were not present in this release.

Bump. I somewhat would like some form of acknowledgement. I wouldn't have minded if they hadn't even tried, that is simply better than half assing something.

Do not purchase it yet. I am very interested in receiving a response from CCP in regards to this. Its not a matter of trying and failing to achieve something, its a matter of not having tried at all. And that is what is upsetting.

As will I. This is something I am not going to let go of without a decent response. I'm not necessarily demanding a golden suit, simply a Dev acknowledgement of the issue as I see it, and my opinions in regards to further buying such packages will hinge on the response.

You can confirm this is the case?
If so then I am hugely disappointed that someone so badly, poorly, and without thought made such minor cosmetic changes and thought that would fly with paying customers who were expecting a certain standard of quality and pride in work.

I have the back and front views of them.
In order they are the Ak.0, the A/1, and finally in comparison the Templar Sentinel.....which for those of you who own them or have seen them on the battlefield know that the golden colour scheme is down pat.
Now my camera is not all that good, but the actual colour of the A/1 is a drab green/yellow colour, which by comparison does not resemble the Gold of the Templar Suit at all.
So due to my cameras poor quality compare the Sentinel Armour plating scheme with the A/1 and you will see that colours do not align even slightly.

Goddamnit that is not gold! but that A/1 looks KINDA cool, slightly tickles my fancy. I'm contemplating getting it anyway... should I true? Green eyes on the A/1 series are pretty cool.
If you would but its far more underwhelming in your MQ.

Bumping. A simple Dev answer even several words long would suffice to tell me whether or not I will be supporting Dust 5`4 financially in the future.
As it stands I personally feel very dissatisfied with the Amarr colour schemes, and as a proud players of Dust, and an Amarr loyalist, I was happy to have bought the packs to support CCP.
However this poor quality effort is what is giving me such misgivings. If the developers cannot adequately colour the dropsuits of the racial groups they created with visually appealing and appropriate colours they are failing to meet their basic obligations to fans and collectors.

Valerie Viever wrote:Zeylon Rho wrote:I feel you. Why buy things for cosmetic reasons if the cosmetics aren't up to par? This is a minor thing, but do you remember the Ruby-gold "Burnscar" Khanid pistol? It's an Aurum PRO level Scram pistol, but it's just a straight-up AUR replacement (the fitting stats are the same and it still requires PRO skills).
I paid real money for the Burnscar because I liked the idea of the Ruby-gold Scrambler Pistol (even though EVE-wise, that's more of a Carthum color-scheme). However, the gun no longer has any special texture/color. A gun whose only purpose was literally being a different color... looks no different. It's not even sold anymore either. I made bug threads... I assume off-market goods are low priority though.
I sure hope the Amarr vehicles are a rhapsody of golden curves when we finally get them. The Amarr vehicles in EVE are the sexiest thing ever, and it would be sad to not have that. I disagree. It's not minor, is a major thing. It's the defining feature of their business strategy. If the game isn't pay to win (it shouldn't) then the only reason to spend money on micro transactions is for cosmetic purposes. If they can't get that right then their business model is fatally flawed. How can they expect income if their cosmetic differences are less pleasing than the basic stuff in game. We games are a vain lot, and will spend hard earned cash for the simplest of visual differences....provided they're appealing to the eye! Not these vomit green smgs, Orange drop suits and "ruby gold" pistols that are indistinguishable from the AUR version... this is a major issue and should be treated as such!
I feel this is very much more eloquent explaination.
Yes this is a very minor aspect to gripe about, but IMO its the little thing, the little bits of effort that go into something that often show how much a group producing a product cares about their work.
For example when I worked for an electrician/ handiman installing fencing for residential properties he would import from the US the same colour paints and laquers as original fencing. This ensure that even if a section of fencing was scratched or knocked over during installation we could cover the damage and make it look as new, even if scratches were a minor as a kid driving his Tonka into the fence he would ensure that the fence looked aesthetically please, and as what the client paid for.
As a result this drummed up plenty of repeat business and word of mouth reccommendations.
What CCP has failed to do is look at the small picture. They saw the big picture, racial FW combat packs with good content in it......but failed to look at the smaller aspects like appearance and design, the essential reasons that players would pay real money for their content over simply using ISK.

Who was it that thought this would be acceptable quality when I know that your technical capacity extends to acceptable Gold shades for dropsuits.

Blue Caldari or Red Minmatar? I bought the Minmatar one, the Republic assaults are indeed red, well a shade of red it changes colour depending on how much light is hitting the suit. Kinda goes from a blood red in the shade to almost bright pink if i stand next to the market place screen I can atleast say that they aren't just some sh!tty reskins where they took a neo suit and put a bit of red on it, they are actually red Assault suits. The M/1 is like the usual mk.0 but all the black is red and the mk.0 is a black suit with diffferent shades of red for all the armour/hadware. Overall i am pretty happy with the way they turned out i just wish they had republic logistic suits in the pack aswell, but the standard ones will have to do.

These details are what I am trying to discuss now, and I feel that for what we paid, as customers, and what we expected as players, fans, collectors, is not really up to scratch when we know they can achieve a proper gold shade.

I have determined possibly and easy reskin of the suits and would like to hear what any followers of this thread think.
If any have seen the Templar suits they know that the armour plating is primarily a rich golden, while the over coat is white with red detail. I suggest and inversion of the white and red at proto level and a simple over lay of the camo colour scheme on the A-1.
