Hello, I have recently been pondering how the War Points are decided from Repair Tools.
Simply put, do you get points based on amount repaired, or the time you take to repair.
The importance of this question is this:
If points are based on time spent repairing It would not be worth achieving the higher tiers of Repair Tools. Better Repair Tool == Less War Points
If points are based on amount repaired It would be worth it to invest into better Repair Tools. Better Repair Tool == Faster War Point Gain
Thank you for your time! - Michael Mitchell |

I do believe these days the points are based on the amount you repair. There is a cap to this though (I think the cap has a short duration, like every min or something.)
Yes better repair tool, faster war point gain but the cap to war points per min is still the same.

HaHa.Oh The Irony.
The Repair Tools are based of of amount repaired. So using a higher tiered Repair Tool will cause you to gain the WP faster.
If or when you have the SP, get a Core Focused Repair Tool.

That cap is pretty damn high then as I've yet to reach it. Even standing behind a fat suit with a proto repper and that +25, +35 going off like every second. I went from 900 WP to 1,400 WP in less than a minute. |

Thank you for your time! - Michael Mitchell So you'll use a STD rep tool, "getting more points for yourself," while screwing over your team, and your corp.
I won't bother telling you how being a logi works for me.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

While I hate to agree with this man, he is correct.
The 4 Rs of Logistics (Rally, Revive, Resupply, and Repair) hold greater importance than WP.
Especially in PC or FW.

Not sure how you would be getting more points of yourself, for using Standard Repair Tools if points are based on repair amount.
Sure you may be hitting the capacity faster with a better tool, but I would not consider that getting less points. |

Rally, you need to clear the area before the Revive. |

Your getting less points because the ally won't last nearly as long, and they won't be able to get into battle quickly.
If you cannot get your teammates back into battle quickly, then you are practically useless.

Is there a certain amount of healing you need to do in order to get the WP? I have a militia suit equipped with a repair tool that I use once every blue moon...the most recent of which was on a blue wearing a militia Caldari suit. I noticed that his armor was low (shields were at full strength) so I quickly swapped to my medic fit (yeah, I swapped out the militia injector for the repair tool) and repped him back to full health, but didn't get any WP for it. Also came across a Gunni a few months ago while we were being redlined that had taken armor damage; repaired him and received no WP as well.
Life is killing me.

It's based on amount, so you're not going to get very much (if any) WP from a Caldari suit, as they have very little armor.
Anyways, I think the large amount of WP that is possible to gain from repping is awesome, and I'm really surprised that there aren't more people using core focused repair tools. There need to be more dedicated logis in general, so hopefully the 1.8 repair tool rate buff will convince more people to support the team rather than focus on killing.
