They did nerf the M16A3 in the end though...
Pretty dumb thread tbh, since DUST is one of the most unbalanced games I've ever played. FoTM syndrome reflects how DUST has NEVER been able to achieve any semblance of balance, and I see the trend is continuing with the RR

And I thought the BF forums were bad during the BF3 M16A3 OP period. Wasn't that actually a pretty OP weapon though? I never used it but I heard a lot about it. They never did nerf the insane AEK-971 though.
They did nerf the AEK, then buffed it back to where it was. Same thing with the F2000. I remember the AEK being buffed because I was "training" myself to get good with the gun post nerf, then they made it easy mode.
They buffed the M416 the same time they nerfed the M16A3, making the reload quicker, thus making it a competitive alternative.
Personally I used the AK74M, F2000, AEK, AN94 more than I did the M16A3. I didn't understand the need to nerf it. It was over used, and it was a good overall gun, but it wasn't the best. AEK was the best, but the reload time is its drawback.
In DUST, there is no alternative, making balance a joke. Either you use the FoTM or you're gimping yourself.

Yeah, they buffed the turn speed, and now all heavies are getting passive resistances, although only by 10% at max instead of the 30% i recommended.
I don't play DUST anymore, I just pop by the forums now and then looking to see what changed and what hasn't. Hoping to hear about a PS4 version sometime soon, but I doubt that'll happen.
I remember that thread, and honestly being a cynic, I didn't think CCP would have done anything to make heavies better. Thankfully they're getting resistance because lolgrenades are still OP from what I can gather. There should be a resistance module, or an explosion specific armor plates. Give people the choice between small arms resistance, or explosive resistance...
Anywho, I might turn on DUST when the new heavy suits reach. I want to see them.
