Since the end of closed beta team play has slowly but surely eroded. I have my opinions on what has led us to the current dilemma where more than half of the players on each team are solo.
What can be done to incentivize players to group up and try to win matches?

Squad Assists = +10 points to the normal value.
I don't just mean kills - transport assists, logi assists, spawn assists...everything add another 10 points. When joining matches, unless in a squad you are automatically solo. This prevents 'lucky' assists. You either chose to be in a squad or not.
If you assist a squad member, you get another 10 points which promotes squad coherency. This doesn't necessarily help overall team efficiency but, you know, baby steps.
This setup would incentivise veteran solo players to form squads at the start of a match - they'll know they get squad bonuses and will help others join. Squad invites in match need to be delegated to the R2 Radial since chat is obviously not functional in an actual map.
1) Squad leader opens squad chat and selects "add members" and is given the team list of names, nothing more (no other info is needed). Names in squads are greyed out or not listed at all to expedite process. 2) Leader sends out invites, up to the maximum of 5. Invites are refunded with declines or after 15 seconds of no reply so he can send more to others. 3) Team member gets a visual and single audible notification of invite - goes to radial and either accepts or declines the invite. Invite will go away after 15 seconds. Audible tone happens ONCE and the notification is a simple symbol hat doesn't add clutter. This prevents spamming squad invites.
Once map is 5 minutes in progress, squad invites are locked out from radial to prevent further spam. Invite via the chat function remain (though who actually checks that?). This is for actual team members who are trying to squad up late in a match for w/e reason.

They used to throw you in a squad automatically. I'm not sure why that changed.
I think they should bring that back yesterday. I mean there might be a dude that accidentally does something to help his squad at some point.

Implement mechaniques of MAG. Game should push you in cooperation with you team, now there is some aspects, but its not strong enough. It feels like coop game, but its just like..hmm how to explain that..im support, i really am. But everytime when i fixing boyos or doing my tactician rutine with droplinks, i dont feel like support. When i put support load in MAG i just have that in mind, now i must fix the tower and look over there there is boyo, i must take him up with medkit. In dust its just oki reapir his suit, put link here and no special feel about it.

Automatic squads won't do anything as the act of being in a squad doesn't incentivise ACTING like a squad.
I'm assuming OP is referring to all the players out there, most not veterans of team shooters, that have no reason to behave as a team. My proposal of squad assists is one way to begin changing that behavior. In-match squad invites would also work better as many of these 'solo' players never look at chat in their quarters which is where random invites even arrive...hence why they are solo.
It took me actively seeking a corp to get squad involved - most players won't do that because they aren't at all accustomed to it. The mechanics of DUST don't help this much either compared to the previous post about MAG.

I'll explain a little about MAG to describe his point because he is completely right, A) there was an actual q-synque function for entire clans B) assisting a squad mate in any way resulted in automatic squad assist points C) much bigger matches making going solo an absolute *****, the smallest matches were 32 vs. 32
You can't force people to not go solo but they'll gravitate to what gains them the most points especially with a cap every week, no one cares about team work until after their cap is reached
