Well first off, I don't like calling the Crusader suit, a "Crusader." Crusader is used with religious groups as soldiers of some sort. A Gallente or Minmatar Crusader sounds weird.
Anyways. Would the Crusader Suit still be viable?
The suit was designed to be worn by squad leaders on the field and give AoE bonuses to their squad mates. With it you could say, boost your team's repair rate whenever they're around you. You can relate each bonus to a specific race of course.
It's been so long since I've heard about it. Makes me think CCP either forgot about it or really put it on the back burner. Maybe after 1.8 we can have more specialized suits come in, including the Crusader. I'm also worried if the Crusader suit will just make balancing more difficult.
What do you guys think? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Is it viable? If you could decide the squad bonuses , what would they be?

So call it a Command suit. Not commander, that implies the guy in charge of the whole team. Like the fleet commander wouldn't be the guy in the command ship.
But, it is CCP. They named a heavy suit with two weapons a Commando. That is the very opposite of what a commando is. A commando would rightly be a light suit with dual wield (akimbo) capability.
Also, I am offended by the word Commando. A commando killed my family.
A Commander doesn't necessarily mean "Commander of all" at least not in the U.S. Army(or so I read). It's often a title with the highest being dun-da-da-dun, The Commander-in-Chief.
But the more I think about it, the more I would like for their to be something very much like what EVE has when it comes to bonuses.
Squad Commander Skills, Field Commander Skills, and Planetary Commander Skills or of course other names that would work well. Think I might make an idea thread about it.

How about calling it the Combat Controller (controller for short)?
I could definitely enjoy calling it the Controller Suit. Reminds me of DCUO where you have the Controller role that gives small yet effective bonuses to the entire team. The community affectionately called them "Trollers."

On the subject of the name though, I think it should be called a "Marauder" suit You see, Minmatar Crusader sounds weird but Amarr Marauder sounds even weirder. I agree with above that Technician or Commander would be better (though Commander could be confused with Commando) Would work in theory if we didn't have a Commander suit in concept. Crusader leads the squad and provides buffs/hexes to friendlies and enemies whereas the Commander oversees the entire battle from the MCC. Technician, maybe - but it kinda sounds like it would be doing what the Logistics does and might confuse newer players. Hrmm... Brigadier? Not sure, drawing a blank on a good name for a squad leader role =P
Well considering that it doesn't have to be a squad leader who uses that suit, it could always be called a Tactician Dropsuit. We haven't really used that word much in Dust so it should be free.
If not that, I'd go with Controller like one of the guys here suggested. I'd like being called a "Troll."

And if you achieve lvl 5 you are a Master Baiter.
I see what u did there lol
I'd love a "Bait" Grenade tho. Scouts are less likely to carry locus and flux if they had other options like a EMP grenade or "Bait" grenade. Tossing the grenade to the side and waiting for someone to bite.

But yeah I'd love a Legionnairy suit, and a grenadier, and a brawler.
I'd imagine they would release them at the same time. If not the "Crusader" earlier. Pilot suit would have to come in the 4 flavors and we only have two flavors of vehicles.

Bored and at school...
I'd love if each Crusader, I'll be calling it the Tactician suit from here on, had a racial bonus to a certain aspect of HP. The Amarr Tactician would pass out Armor resistance, Gallente would pass out Armor Rep, Caldari would pass out Shield HP buffs, while Minmatar would pass out Shield Resistance.
With a general bonus to CPU and PG for Tactician Modules
Make them a medium frame with a little health but enough slots to match a top tier ADV assault suit.
Give me cool Tactician Modules as well:
1. Decreasing Reload Speed of hostiles 2. Increasing Reload Speed of squad 3. Increase Passive Scan duration 4. Decrease Enemy's Passive Scanning Ability 5. Stamina Regeneration Increase 6. Stamina Drain 7. Increase Optimal Range by a small amount 8. Decrease enemy Optimal Range by a small amount 9. Increase Damage Amount 10. Decrease Damage Amount
1-2 being focused on Minmatar, 3-4 for Gallente, 5-6 for Amarr, and 7-8 for Caldari. 9-10 being in general. This is all lore wise.
