We are experiencing persistent issues with the various packs that are sold on the PSN store. Considering this is how CCP expects to keep the lights on and put food on the table of the developers I'd like to see them fixed so that I feel better about sending some of my paycheck to help that happen.
Please note, I don't want this thread to devolve into complaining about BPOs. They are gone, for now at least, and are not the concern here.
The first issue is that the space in the PSN description is limited and mostly filled with legal speak. We don't know what we are buying and have to spend $10 or more to find out. The simplest solution is to provide a full list in the marketplace forum post including any relevant statistics. If a suit is just a recolored standard model then say that. If skills are reduced then mention that as well. If the item is really different then list all the specs. You have all the space you need on the forums. Please use it.
The second issue is that many of these packs are recolored items. That's fine. Many of us are collectors and will buy something simply because it looks different and we can strut around our quarters, the warbarge or the battlefield in something shiny. But, we don't know what they look like! Post real pictures! The advertising images rarely have anything to do with the actual appearance of the item. Make sure CCP Frame has something honest to show us for his posts.
Third, there is a real disconnect between the community team and the team that puts this stuff together. I'll ask a community representative and the answer is almost always, "Hmm, I'll have to ask about that." These guys should know a week before anything goes live everything there is to know about any change. It's sad that the players will notice a change to the market before they do.
Finally, there is also the issue with packages going live in the DUST marketplace before they are available on the PSN store. This can result in some weird in-between state where it is purchasable but not downloadable. At least mention this in the forum post so people are aware that it will happen at the beginning of a new promotion.

Since synchronizing the in-game and PSN markets are an issue switching the in-game updates to Thursdays would also prevent players from attempting to buy packs that aren't available.

This last one is not really a fair remark - we sit very near each other but we can't be completely knowledgeable about all that they do. While we have a relatively good idea, we can't be expected to have a complete knowledge sink of the game (otherwise we would basically be designing it, War Elephants and everything ;) We do our best instead to put you in touch, be your voice and find things out for you. That being said, I'll speak to the guys and see if there's a way we can list out the contents of the packs somewhere.
I'm sorry if that sounds unfair and I know you sit next to CCP Frame. However, I'd think you would have a meeting, just an informal conversation really considering your proximity, and go over the market changes for the week so you could answer any questions that players come up with. When I asked about the faction combat packs it really sounded like you didn't know about them. I see that CCP Frame's promotion post has been updated.

I believe I was sitting in a taxi at the time reading Twitter on my phone. I have yet to reach the state of zen where I can endlessly reel off my DUST 514 knowledge at a moment's notice (although that point is soon coming).
