The "Abyss" drop uplink can only be purchased with aurum and has a spawn time modifier of -75% making it the best in the game. The number of spawns on this uplink are only 5, but that is irrelevant as they will be have a short lifespan in PC anyway.
On top of that, the uplink can only be used if you have proficiency V. This means that the uplink was designed from the very start to give an advantage to people who had their skills maxed out, NOT simply giving people with lower sp a shortcut to the same tools readily available to everyone else.
Clearly intentional pay to win on CCP's part, and NOT an accident.

Look at the Aurum complex damage modifiers.
Both are right, this has been discussed thoroughly and it's not P2W enough for CCP to change it.
Those initial contact grenades were pretty hilariously P2W before CCP took em out though. |

Isn't that uplink destroyed when you die or change suits? I do understand where your coming from in that the aurum stats should not be better period but i thought the best LP uplink was essentially the same but it isn't destroyed upon death or suit change.

Chill mate, these are hardly used at all and will only bring the slightest of benefit, and are only usable in the very first spawn With a speed tanker running in to the objective and spawning in the rest of his Squad, otherwise these are useless. Find somthing else to cry about, you know, something thats actually an issue, there are plenty to chose from.

No, Renegade owns half of Molden Heath because it was given to them and then 90% of their opposition quit the game.
They are able to retain half of Molden Heath because they are able to abuse timers that nobody gives a damn about contesting, courtesy of Nyain San.
And I'm able to hold onto 12 districts because of bullshit locking mechanics and CCP's inability to fix the obvious.

This also extends to how fast they are able to respawn.
Any argument stating otherwise come only be made from someone purposely trolling, or with a complete lack of any experience in the matter.

This is clearly an item that you pay real cash for to get an advantage over people who don't.
That in it's very essence is pay to win... And what DUST built their entire game model around to avoid.
The LAST thing dust needs is to sully that one credibility they had in this aspect.
Pay to win is not something that suddenly becomes ok because its just an uplink... If you pay real money for an item that gives you an advantage over other players and can't be naturally progressed into. It breaks the very Core of how DUST works as a Free to play game. |

That's pay to get quicker... not to have an advantage over someone who doesn't... Plenty of mercenaries out there in the 20m Sp mark that have never purchased a booster... and are on equal competitive footing with the best out there..
If someone was to buy an Item that was Better then any ISK item... Then we are getting to the realm of someone paying for something that is better then the ISK option item.
Ton's of people spend money on this game regardless of mine or your personal feelings abotu the state of DUST currently. And for alot of people DUST IS there game they play daily... And purchasing Aurum items to run PUB's is there way to make ISk... All the power to them as they are supporting the title...
Anyone who is competitive... will look for any advantage they can.. And in a highly competitive matches in DUST these uplinks or any item that act's like these uplinks will be abused ... And the fine line of pay to win CCP has been walking with DUST will have been crossed. |
