So after lone wolfing for over a year now, I've decided that it's time for me to actually... socialize... *shudder*
Anyone have a good recommendation for a headset? It doesn't have to be fancy, but cheap is good. I'm looking to start squading up with people, and perhaps join a player corp.

You do have to spend a little cash for a decent headset, the money is worth it for both clarity of the other players and the clarity of your voice.
I'm currently using Turtle Beach PX22's

I got a cheap Sony corded headset for 30 bucks and despite that I have to deal with a cord (which is plenty long enough, 8 ft I think) it works like a champ. I get a snicker from all these guys that have headset issues or have to charge it. Never had a prob with my cheap ****. Bought it from a game store... |

I'll get laughed at, but the wired Turtle Beach P11's do what I need of a headset. And they were cheap.

If you want a good headset under $100, Get the 5H V/3. If slightly over $100, Serbia V2 or Kraken 7.1. If over $150, Tiamat 7.1, 9H. Best set off headsets I've heard (not sure if all of these works for PS3, but does with PS4; The Kraken and Serbia does).

I would use just any bluetooth headset you got lying around.
But then again, I rarely use mine anyway, but it works when I do use it.

Depending on how cheap you mean by cheap, you can go with the Sony Bluetooth for $20 but its not that great sound wise and it echos a little on me, but it does the job. I recently got the new Sony gold wireless for PS4 and I'm a fan so far. It runs $99

I go with the Playstation Blue Tooth. I get a solid 7 or so straight hours out of mine, and i'm not a fan of having sh*t on my head so the blue tooths size is nice. Sound quality is good on both ends. The only thing that I don't like is how long it takes to charge it back up to full, but this may be due to me draining it completely most of the time. My prime gaming hours see me playing for about 7 hrs straight. Think it cost me 60 bucks about 4 years ago.
I haven't failed 10,000 times, i've successfully found 10,000 ways that won't work.

25$ on Amazon for a PS3 bluetooth headset. I've been using it 6mo, perfectly clear, 7(ish) hours battery life.
Not new, just new to you.

I use a Sony Playstation Bluetooth 2.0 Headset. Costs only around $30, 6 hr of battery life, up to 30 ft of recognition, and one ear sided and small enough that you won't feel it. If you need squadmates join the channel ALLIANCE HUB.
Well, time to go Commando. Fill the Ranks at 703rd.

Turtle Beach P11.
It has different volumes for chat and game noises, as long as you have the volume with AV cords.
edit: just realized you said "cheap"
If you consider $50 (pre owned) cheap, then it's for you :D

If your looking for bang for buck really only two good options IMO.

Material on the ear pad can be rough for some people...
Or Sony's Option... Good because of the slider switches on the headset its self allowing for Volume controle... Then a Toggle slider allowing you to choose between game Sound and Player Voice sound volume amounts... So if that one annoying person is talking to much or you have that game where Voices aren't easily muted.. You can quickly slide a switch and they are gone and your game is louder.

It's a USB based headset... just incase that isn't clear. |

I had that headset. You're right, they sound great. Big problem: Killed my head (I have a large noggin ) and made my ears sweat if I played more than an hour or so.
I got rid of it and got the TurtleBeach PX22. |

I didn't like the material on the ear pads of the px22.. But they are still decent headphones.. Ive just caved and had enough of trying to find a headset thats just right... have like 3 100 dollar sets and none of them get use except by friends on the second system
Best Gaming headphone investment I've made... Can wear them all day and forget they are there...
