Don't forget it's 6 second charge up time(5 with max skills) and not being able to move while charging.

If Maddy, plus 10% for armor add about 170 and you are looking at 2500 dmg easy on a hit anywhere.
From a forger, hitting the sweet spot twice is actually pretty easy if its an armor tank. you sure your math is right ive always thought it was 2100 * 1.15 * 1.1956 = 2887ish dmg

That's no excuse to slack off on releasing a heavy laser though =.=

oh and to your main post it was most likely a rail tank or rail installation as the FG cannot shoot farther than 300 meters due to "balance"...

Ah, love my Breach, there's nothing like taking a tank roughly from behind.
But as others have said, can't be it. Capped at 300 metres. Most likely damage modded rail.

You can pretty easily test this yourself with a MLT FG fit. The information is probably maybe available somewhere here or there, but you know how CCP enjoys hiding information.
Anywho, make MLT FG fit, run to enemy red line and aim at a red turret. You can only damage it and see the distance/HP when itGÇÖs at or under 300 metres. You can see red turrets from further away, but not the HP bars or the Intel if itGÇÖs outside the hard cap.
EDIT: I suppose a neutral turret at the beginning of the match would do just fine as well

Dude back in chrome I use to strip up to 6000 shields if I used my heavy vko suit and dcma breech (they removed the wyoming breech ) if i hit the sweet spot, so forge guns now are mear shadows of themselves

Yeah sorry guys I don't know Breach Base DMG off top of my head, so I wiki'd it real quick (dustWiki always wrong lol) But yeah that thing will knock your socks off either way. I tend to stick only to the IAFG as it does more DPS if you are accurate enough with it. And I know the dmg mods compound individually its just much easier to do 18.6% as it already includes the second stacking penalty.

On the regular neutral turrets I haven't noticed anything, but then I can't say for certain any of those kills were 300 meters away. Effective use on Derships is always inside 100 meters. Did someone ask for weapon range info? Check my signature.
The FG has a 300m projectile range after which it despawns. The unreal engine is not fast enough to always do it at 300 so 320m is much more common. I'm surprised if someone actually managed to hit out to 350m
