          Do you prefer damage mods or shield extenders and why so?
  I personally prefer complex damage mods over shield extenders, 
  I feel they add more damage output then shields give you health.

          Depends on my enimy.. if tgey are runing proto then go for tge dammage mods but otger than that I prefer shield enegisers ad they really help with getting your shields back to buffer your armour.

Why bother running you'll only die tired.

  Seems like they add 72 DPS to the STD HMG.
  720DPS*1.1=bonus of 72. Coincidentally... Shield extenders at PRO...

          Shield extenders. But thats because I've been stuck with a militia Heavy for around 8 months. I need all the HP I can get. Then again, I'd go with shields over damage mods even if I weren't stuck with this militia Amarr heavy garbage. 
  The main reason is because I frequently run solo without any sort of logistics backing me up. Shields have decent natural regen, and combine that with some armour reppers, and I'm good to go with or without help.

          Boundless HMG base DPS is 792, with prof 5 it becomes 910, with 2 complex damage it becomes 1089. I already have 600 shields so im gunna take the damage, an increase of 179 to my dps feels alot better than 144 shields IMO.
 Da only good Amarr is a ded Amarr, an de ony fing betta than a ded one, is a dyin one who tells ya were 'is mates is!

          Damage mods, it's simple maths really. Mods give you a much bigger % increase to damage than shields do to HP, since you have so much HP to start with. The only thing that's stupid about the prefit on the Hellmar heavy is the shield extender. |

          Damge mods i like stacking plates so logis can make me invincible if i could remove the shields my self i would heavys are only as good as thier support

          I run solo so I use shield extenders for the extra hp. I don't have proto, so every hp helps. When I come across a heavy/logi combo I try to kill the logi first, then the heavy with a headshot. Usually get the logi, sometimes the heavy too, if not will at least get the assist provided my team hasn't quit yet.

          shield extenders, having maximum shield on my heavy helps it survive much more(especially against rail rifles). its 745 shields compared to 600, which saves my suit a fair amount of times.
  Thing is, despite the damage mods being theoretically more useful in 1v1 full DPS on each other engagements, its pointless in reality. Thats because the DPS on an HMG is so high that what really matters isn't the damage but the accuracy, if you get full DPS on someone, they're dead. Period. Do you really care if you kill a fully tanked proto medium in 1.1 seconds compared to 1 second? Or do you want to survive a lot more times against everyone else?

          Dmods......or energizers......extenders arent as good as they should be.....
  Extenders need around 80% of the health bonus that armor plates give.....the benefit from using shields SHOULD be the regenerative properties not brick tanking....
  Unfortunately these regenerative properties are lacking......but buffing them too much would lead to massive gameplay issues
 Real heavies use lasers
